Constant BSOD and random system lockups

Hi folks,

I built this computer for work and it's been constantly locking up or bluescreening.

On a first windows install, it would randomly BSOD but I thought I solved that problem, only to have it then start freezing. This was very random, sometimes it would run for days then boom, multiple freezes. I re-installed windows and now I'm back to BSOD and freezes. To be honest, I'm almost ready to stomp the thing.

I've run memtest, prime95, various stress testing programs and found no errors.

Motherboard is P8H61-MX USB3 Rev X.0x running a 3.20 gigahertz Intel Core i5-3470

Search for updates in Realtek . Scroll down to RTL8192SU, take the Utility and Driver Auto Installation Program (Support Win2K/XP/Vista/Win7)(Install Shield v1.00.0187), version Win7=v1086.48.0809.2011 XPVista=v1084.53.0809.201, dated 2012/4/19.

Some Display related errors are predominant there. As the display driver is the latest version, not considering it right now. Stress test the Graphics Card using Furmark.

Are you overclocking? As you are getting BSODs, you should stop overclocking and run all the hardware components like CPU, GPU and RAM to their default settings. Also set the BIOS to default, too.

Upload a snapshot Using Speccy. We need to check the system heat.

Download and install Speccy.
File> Save snapshot.
Save it on desktop.
Zip it and upload it following following Screenshots and Files - Upload and Post in Seven Forums .

Check if the Power Supply Unit (PSU) supplying adequate power to the computer or not.

Also let us know the wattage of the PSU.

So let us know the results.

I've done a diskcheck and all good there.

Also ran Furmark for approx three hours and computer remained stable.

Last night I updated every driver using Uniblue and then left it running Prime95 overnight. This morning I see that's it has not had any bad moments although Prime95 appeared to only run for approx 2 hours before a message "Prime95 has stopped working".

PSU is Thermaltake TR2 Bronze 500W TR-500PCAU Power Supply ATX and the computer is not Overclocked.

Not sure if relevant but since I have bought this computer home, it is behaving so the only two things that have changed is monitor (digital at home, work monitor is analogue and I'm using an adapter to DVI) and keyboard.

Hmm strange Techtard
But if you want to check out the PSU you can use these but please DO NOT attempt disassembling the device and just remember correct volts doesn't mean correct current.
If the volts are out by more than 0.5 (lower) then I would look at a new PSU.

I've got a spare 950w PSU here which I was going to use for another build ... guess if this thing keeps crashing I'll have to use it to rule out power supply as an issue. I've also got a multimeter, just don't know how to use it lol

I've been using the computer for a few hours this morning and only things happening is it doesn't like to run Prime95 for too long and Firefox keeps crashing.

The multimeter Techy you just shove the black probe into any black lead / socket on the 24 pin or the board CPU power or the GPU power lead on any of the leads from the PSU and use the red probe into the orange red yellow etc etc to check the volts.

Those tutorials will give you what volts should be found where (colours) any < 0.5v the correct volts is not good.

Like I said correct volts however does not mean correct or enough current mate.
ie if a car battery tests 12 - 13.8 v then it doesn't mean it has enough charge to swing the engine over and / or deliver enough current to the ignition

No Uniblue! Get the driver form the site, install it manually.

My bad. I'm not a smart person sometimes. Uniblue is not good I gather.

The computer ran trouble free whilst at home, tomorrow I take it back to work and will report back. Hope this is solved.

Can't thank you and Icit2lol for all your help. I shall continue to hang around these forums in the hope that I learn something and can then also help people out.

Yes mate as ARC says Uniblue a no go area and most of the make it faster clean it out fix the reg etc etc ad nauseum are rubbish and more trouble than they are worth. The only one worth having is CCleaner if you have not got it already.

CCleaner - Download download from piriform and watch for any small add ons none usually but still can't be too careful.
