Random Blue Screen involving pacer.sys (out of ideas)

    Greetings,

I've been trying to setup my new x79 workstation and it has not been fun. My memory seems to pass memtest86+ . I let it run for 24 hours, but with 64 gb of ram that is little more than two passes. I also did 24 hours of prime95 with no errors.

I thought I had it stable after switching from Intel RST to RSTe but I had a blue screen tonight that puzzles me.

I have attached the SF Diagnose archive as requested and any help is greatly appreciated.
This is starting to effect my work and I have never had such problems in 20 years of computer building.

    rick

I did install daemon tools lite today

    Hi,

The majority of your drivers are dated 2009, I would firstly install
Windows Service Pack 1 as it will increase system stability.
Then once installed please run Windows Updates and install all the latest updates.

    http://windows.microsoft.com/is-IS/windows7/install-windows-7-service-pack-1
    http://windows.microsoft.com/is-IS/windows/service-packs-download#sptabs=win7

    Problem Devices:

    Attachment 284241

Intel(R) 82574L Gigabit Network Connection. Windows update may have an update or try the
Intel update Utility: Network Connectivity — Intel® Ethernet Adapters historical driver and software version numbers

Aim to update the driver or uninstall the correct program:

    Faulting Driver: PxHlpa64.sys
Refers to: Sonic CD/DVD driver (used by many different CD/DVD programs)
    List of programs: pxHelp20.sys programs

Also IastorA.sys is showing also as having issues.
I will ask another member to look at that issue as they can be problematic.

    cheers

Thanks for getting me started.... I will do everything you mention and get back to you.

    2 questions:
1)Does Daemon Tools come with Sonic DVD Driver? I haven't installed any DVD software other than that, and nothing on the list linked to. Is there another way to figure out what software is using it?

2)There are 2 network controllers on motherboard. Windows installed drivers for 1 during setup. Should I install updated intel drivers for both? Can I just disable the one I don't use? I've heard some horror stories regarding these intel nics.

IastorA.sys (Intel RSTe) having issues terrifies me. (I went through hell trying to get stability out of Intel RST drivers and it was endless problems. Switching to RSTe has made the system much more usable. I'm not sure what to do (other than abandon raid) if it doesnt work.

Ill report back when all the drivers/updates are done.

    Hi,

Please uninstall Daemon tools as it is well known for BSOD.
Start > click on Computer > Uninstall or change a program > choose Daemon tools. Reboot.
Once uninstalled please go here and remove the SPTD driver itself with this tool:

    DuplexSecure - Downloads

       Warning
If the uninstall button is grayed out when you run the program you don't need to do anything and can close the window, if it is not click it and allow it to run. DO NOT click the install button as it will install a driver known to cause BSODs onto your system.

You need to remove all Adobe programs as your host file shows activation bypass below,
especially Adobe Lightroom, which PxHlpa64.sys is a part of and post up new logs.

    Code:

    127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com
    127.0.0.1 practivate.adobe.com
    cheers

    Update:

Had a few days of peace and then another Bluescreen tonight (bluescreen said storport.sys was responsible).
I've attached the new sevenforum tool archive containing dmp and everything else.

This is so frustrating and I am so grateful for your help. Computer is my livelyhood, the thought of living with this for the next 2+ years is beyond depressing. Sorting this out would be like a new lease on life.

    Hi,

Looking at your logs, you have many storage related issues.

I will have to ask another member to assist with this who is far more knowledgeable
and experienced on these types of issues.

    cheers
