    Memory_management bsod

I built a new computer about a month and a half ago, and installed the Release Candidate of Windows 7 (legitimate copy with a legitimate CD key from Microsoft). For the first month or so I had zero problems, lately I have been getting BSOD's rather often, sometimes more than once a day. I've looked around for answers, and I have already done the Windows memory diagnostic thing on boot, but it found no problems. So I'm completely stumped. Please help!

    Acendancy

Just a quick look at the dump while waiting for someone with a full featured debugger. this dump appears to be caused by firefox and win2k.sys corrupting the memory.

While we are waiting can you

run a system file checker to verify the system files by typing this in search.
cmd>right click and run as admin> sfc /scannow

Also are you overclocking, running a raid, or anything else that isnt stock?

    Let us know the results

I am not overclocking, and where do I look to see if I am running RAID? I checked disk management under the console root but I don't see it. (Or is it one of those things that if you don't know then it probably doesn't apply?) :P

Edit: Scan finished, no integrity violations.

Just to be safe, I've had Firefox off majority of the day. No BSOD's, but I always have Firefox up so I feel lost without it :/

    Any updates?

I'd like to update ZigZag's list of suggestions to include running memory diagnostics. Your crash looks hardware-ish. Given that the hardware is new, there's the possibility of bad or mismatched RAM, or something else in the system interfering with normal memory access.

MDSCHED is built-in, and you may also want to try MEMTEST. Running diagnostics - for several hours if necessary - may reveal a problem.

It's not Firefox. That was the process whose thread was running at the time, but in one of those strange and counter-intuitive twists that doesn't matter at all.

I ran the MEMTEST86 when I left for class this morning, it ran for 4 hours with no errors and had a complete pass.

I'm stumped on this one. :/

So far today my computer just has randomly restarted, without a blue screen. I don't know what could be causing that now. Sheesh. Had less problems with my old computer -_-

want help in finding out why?

lets start by looking in event viewer. type event viewer in search. go to the windows log>application tab. Lets see what kind of errors there are. errors have a red "X" in the left column. the ones you are interested in are ones that say app hang, app crash, etc. see if you can find the most comman one and give us the event ID and source of it

let us know if you need help with any of this

    Source: Kernel-Power
    EventID: 41
    Task Category: 63

This was the "Critical" error I just had. Hmm...
