Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1

Wait. My joy was premature, it got a BSOD yesterday out of nowhere after being just fine. I'm running spyware, malware, and system file check right now to see if any of those are the problem. Microsoft Security Essentials also noticed a threat called Win64/Alureon.gen!A that seems to keep reappearing on my laptop. I'm thinking that is what's causing my issue but I'm not sure. I hate to keep asking you for help but if you could assist I would really appreciate it.

Edit: After using Windows Defender Offline to get rid of the Alureon virus, my computer refuses to even start. It say an error occured and that it could not start Windows, sysyem repair and restore points also have no effect. Now I'm back to square 1, only worse because now my computer is useless.

Leave this thread open, for the virus I would suggest creating a thread here - System Security - Windows 7 Help Forums

Post a link of this thread in your new thread in the Security section, so they know what we've done :)

Do you use online banking or have any accounts which may have you bank or payment details? For example, accounts like Amazon. The Virus:Win64/Alureon.gen!A is data stealing, and is able to transmit your data to the user.

It may have corrupted some driver files too -

Win32/Alureon is a family of data-stealing trojans. They allow a hacker to collect confidential information such as your user names, passwords, and credit card data.

They can also send malicious data to your computer and corrupt some driver files, making them unusable.

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1

Okay, thank you for your help. I really appreciate you taking your time to help me even though it was all for not. Hopefully I can get my problem resolved in the Security section of this forum so everything won't be in vain.

I don't use any online banking or anything so this virus is pumping a dry well.

That is also good to know, thanks again.
