Okay, yes the settings are all disabled. As for the BIOS, I said BIOS Version 0705, and at the bottom I saw V2.001201 Megatrend.

Quick update - I updated my BIOS to the most up to date current bios. BIOS 1604 for the ASUS Sabertooth 990FX. I put in the same settings you told me to put in the first time 1.4V for CPU, and 1.2V for NB and 1.650V for the RAM @ 1600MHZ. CPU ratio is at 21. The System is not reverting back to 3.0GHz during Prime95. It seems to be holding 4.2GHz strong, with Prime95. I'm running it for 20 mins to see how it does. Fingers crossed.
Update - Ran for 20 mins fine. No issues. Temps got as high as 55 C for socket, and 56 C for cores. |

Hopefully you should be sound now, I would normally say you could keep on trying if you wanted to go higher but your temps are close to the recomended maximum of 62c now. Run Prime for a few hours to see if it holds out ok but remember that these stress test's are only synthetic and all they prove is that your system was stable enough to pass that stress test at the time. The only true test of stability is normal usage ![]() If you want to increase your overclock you should improve your cpu cooling and airflow in your case. I recall you saying you were using a big 120mm and some 80mm fan's so that leads me to think you're using an old case which probably has little air flow as 80mm case fans don't move much air at all. The clearer the inside of your case is the more room there is for air to circulate and cool components but again you will be limited using 80mm fans. |
