    So an update after tweaking all day. I kept having core 1 and 2 fail after around 1-2 hours of prime95. I noticed my PC was becoming more and more unstable(random freezing) after I kept upping the Voltage. So I went back down to 1.400V. The highest I went up to was 1.4375V. Any advice? Thanks :)

    Also my temps were getting as high was 54 C with prime95 for both CPU core and Socket. When I am at 1.400V my temps are around 47-48 C for both on prime95.

    That's fairly normal. Usually a core shuts down because of lack of voltage, or someother bios setting. But, it is a balancing act. A higher overclock needs more voltage. More voltage = more heat. Many people are limited in their overclocking by heat more than the chip. That's why a lot of people (like me) spend a lot of money on CPU cooling. The cooler I can keep the CPU the higher I can overclock. Running Prime will be more stress and more heat than anything you will ever do on a normal basis. But, we have to run Prime to make sure the overclock is stable, Otherwise you will start getting BSODs. Unfortunately, I can't give you settings to use as I'm not familar with AMD. But what speed is your CPU running at while running Prime?

    shows 4.21ghz during prime95, then sometimes goes to 3.5ghz in cpu-Z

    Most likely, the 3.5 is when the cores drop out.

    Morning! Sorry i've only just woke up
    It shouldn't be clocking down during Prime unless some power saving features have been left enabled or your cpu is getting too hot.

    Did you disable all the settings shown in the "Advance tab" "Cpu Configuration"

    Aswell as Turbo Core Technology in the "Extreme Tweaker" tab?

    Also go into Windows control panel, System and security, Power options. Then select the High Performance power plan.

    Have you ran memtest since getting all of your ram to show? If your ram isn't stable then there is no way your overclock will be stable.

    The highest I went up to was 1.4375V. Any advice?
    Do you mean the highest voltage you set in the bios is 1.4375 or is this what Cpu-z shows?
    If you meant that is as high as you set in the bios then you will need to add more as there will always be a difference in that the voltage you apply in the bios will always be lower than what is actually applied. This is because of vdroop(Google is your friend).

    What psu are you using? i don't recall you mentioning it.
    Edit: Spec's checked. How old is it as i notice it is discontinued in a lot of stores?

    If adding more vcore doesn't stablize it then raise the Cpu/nb voltage to about 1.225 but no more and see if that helps.

    No worries. My PSU is perhaps 1 year and 6 months old. I don't use the built in LED for extra cool lights(if that matters in terms of power consumption or lifespan). I don't leave my PC running all night and all day if I am not using it. As far as your question about the highest voltage, in BIOS I upped it to 1.4375. I noticed my vdroop in CPU-Z it was displaying around 1.4016 or something of that nature. I set it back to v1.400 and ran Prime95 for 8 hours. No cores had shut down(i was not using the PC this time, and went to bed with it running on its own). Question, when doing these tests, should I not be using the PC? For example, when I had higher voltages, I was youtubing, browsing, downloading, chatting on steam. Would this activity on top of Prime95 be the reason my cores shut out at higher voltages?

    Edit: Here are the pictures of my core speeds dropping and raising during prime95. The keep changing from one another.

    Something does not look right. While running Prime, your core voltage will fluctuate depending on the amount of stress on the CPU at that particular time, but your frequency should not change. In your screenshots one was showing 3.010 and the other showing 4.214. Unless AMD works completely different than Intel, and I doubt it in this case, your frequency should not deviate except for a couple of points.

    Here's what I'm saying, you can see my cpu voltage fluctuate some but my frequency fluctuates very little.

    +1 Steve is right in that your cpu frequency should not be down clocking.
    There must be a setting that you have not disabled or your cpu is throttling due to heat. While stress testing my Fx6100 with a vcore of 1.452 it would fluctuate between 1.428- 1.440 and 1.452 depending on load but the frequency should stay the same.

    Can you please check that the settings in the Cpu configuration are all disabled and you're using the performance power profile in windows.

    You need to raise the Vcore in the bios so it shows in the region of 1.41v-1.42v in windows(Cpu-Z) but we need to find out why your cpu is downclocking first.
    With both both Bulldozer and Piledriver the voltage needed for a certain frequency is pretty predictable.
    For example a frequency of 4.3Ghz would require about 1.42-1.43v and a frequency of 4.5ghz would require about 1.440- 1.452v.

    When I set the CPU Voltage to 1.425. My CPU Voltage in windows(CPU-Z) is 1.416V. Windows Power Settings is to High Performance.

    Have you checked those settings in the bios i asked you to? Before moving on you need to know why your cpu is downclocking.. Just out of interest, which bios version are you using?
