It usually caused by some form of boot corruption (failing hard drive or corrupted boot files), have you managed to boot into Windows normally?

Run some hard-drive diagnostics and follow these steps:

Find your hard-drive manufacturer and run their tests.

    Additional Tests:

Post a screenshot of Crystal Disk Info summary:

If you have an SSD, make sure the following are up to date:
    • SSD firmware
    • BIOS Version
    • Chipset Drivers
    • Hard disk controller drivers/SATA drivers
    • If you have a Marvell IDE ATA/ATAPI device, make sure the drivers are up to date from the Intel site or Marvell site and not from your motherboard/vendor support site.
Check for any file system errors and bad sectors using Option #2 of:

Use this command with Disk Check:

    Code:
    chkdsk C: /f /r

Got into windows normally after fixing boot with Win 7 disk.
Ran the FurMark program. It got to 80 deg half way through the test so I turned it off. No freeze or BSOD. I did have erratic mouse behavior before running Furmark after a reboot. The cursor disappear on parts of the screen and change to a bracket in other locations.
The system drive C: is brand new WD 1TB Caviar Black, I replaced it with a new drive after the old one wouldn't get recognized by the BIOS. Will run chkdsk on next boot.

Have you scanned with a updated version of your security suite, with the addition of a updated version of Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware?

       Information
Remember to install the free version of Malwarebytes not the free trail; untick the free trial box during installation. MSE is the most lightweight and compatible with the Windows 7 operating system

WD Data Life Guard Diagnositics all drives pass. Chkdsk no errors, Microsoft Security Essentials up to date and free of issues, Malware Bytes no malware.

This may sound simple, but what kind of surface is the mouse on, and what kind of mouse is it? Optical or plastic ball (I don't think they're even sold anymore?)?

Logitech Optical MX700. I don't think it's the surface as the mouse would skip, in my situation it doesn't show up except the periphery of the screen and the cursor changes to a bracket instead of the arrow. It doesn't happen all the time and is currently working fine.
I will be away and not be using the computer, when I get back and have additional info like a BSOD I'll post. Thanks for the help.

Okay no problem, have you checked the mouse drivers or USB port drivers?

I have disabled the USB 3 Renasas drivers as previously mentioned all other usb ports seem to be working see attached device manager picture. Could it be the wacom drivers? I don't use the mouse but sometime the pen tablet. Mouse drivers are native windows 7.
BTW no BSOD so far but tonight I had a freeze and had to reboot.

What error code does that Wacom device give? Most likely the drivers for this device aren't installed.
