dxgmms1.sys - BSOD (usually triggered when streaming flv)

I'm running into occasional BSOD crashes. Always the same driver error (dxgmms1.sys). Usually encountered when viewing flash content via Firefox.

I've done plenty of searching around (both SF and elsewhere) and tried many of the suggestions posted, but to no avail.

Something tells me the graphics card may be overheating due to the heavy turnaround of video URL's being processed at the time (Typically YouTube HD video). Thus, causing the system to power down in order to protect the hardware.

Don't suppose anyone can shed any light on what can be done to narrow the search?

    Cheers.

What is the make an model of you PSU?
Fill out this form and post back the result:

    • Download Speccy and post a Screenshot of the summary window,
    • one at idle and another while putting load on the PC using Prime95 for the CPU side and Furmark for the GPU.

    Post back with the results!

    Hi,

Sorry for the late follow up!

    It's an OCZ 650W PSU.

Doubt it's a power-load related issue tbh. It's always flash video content via Firefox that triggers it. Most likely a driver issue. Either ATI or Flash would be my guess (maybe even Firefox!).

I was hoping maybe someone else who has experienced it may have found a workaround.

That is one of the most delayed reply I had.
Either way, is that screenshot of Speccy with Furmark stressing the GPU?
Unfortunately your GPU doesn't have an update as stated above.

Which GPU update are you referring to?

Sorry for being the one who broke the news. You can also, as a last resort, try a different slot on you motherboard and re-seating or replacing the power connection.
