So you should go for a Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 now, as you are unable to do the above successfully.

What at least we can see form the camera snap you have posted, the default association of fntcache.dat is changed .... and that is some user taken action only.

Somehow you or somebody else have done something there. At least you have installed any program which overruled the default association .....

Difficult to say, but it does not happen at its own.

Problem is my microsoft proof of authenticity key on bottom of laptop has rubbed to the degree of not being able to read it! Such a stupid place to put these key numbers....Is there no other way of resetting the font cache to what it should be?

The only thing I can think is that pup malware which was on my machine prior to it crashing caused it perhaps...I deleted them with Malwarebytes.
I do remember that when I went to shut it down I noticed an update in the orb and so I shut it down as normal but the update just seemed to flash up and then went off....I thought nothing of it at time.

Also in safe mode when I go to the updates it shows 'I think its called' Microsoft security centre!...(something on that line).....it says its turned off but will not allow to turn on in safe mode...so when I went to try and turn it on in normal mode it didn't show it up! So is that also a problem or was it just showing up because it was in safe mode as I know that only certain files run in safe mode

Andiesluck, you have suggested it all.

You need to delete the fonts and rebuild the font cache Which you cannot do.

You cannot perform a clean install too.

Now you can do one more thing. Go to How I restored my Windows 7 default fonts and get the default fonts. save it in a USB stick. Then, follow Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console (You can do the same using a live linux distro like Puppy Linux) and delete the fonts folder in Windows, and fntcache.dll in system32. Then restore the fonts from the USB stick.

The issue is not any tough to solve at all. Have a look at one exactly same issue .....
Various different BSOD errors after 5-10 minutes running Win7

Apart from my machine which is very tough at getting corrupt files fixed......

So I decided to try the 'on computer' recovery it has on it....I first tried the basic recovery which does not delete any personal files or setting but that did not work...so I took all my personal files off and photos and decided to run the complete recovery......I followed the instructions and video that Samsung had for doing the recovery first and then did it.....all seemed to be fine...the windows screen came up with the usual desktop icons that you get with new machines and I thought...great...I can now add my stuff back...then within seconds it rebooted itself and then restarted back up in the recovery screen ....No button to escape apart from pressing the off/on button and so I re did the process and guess what...it did it again...so I pressed the off/on button and then restarted it and it again went straight back to the recovery screen to do the process all over again!!
So now I am stuck as to why.....
If I can not solve this it looks like I will have to just get another laptop

Anjiesluck, actually that issue does not take that much of effort to solved. Just a few corrupted fonts to deal with .......

All such issues are three post threads. This one is the only exception.
