BSOD occurring when testing custom PC with BurnIn Test...please help!!

    Hi Everyone,

I have just assembled a custom PC, with relatively high end specs, and unfortunately Windows (7 x64) is giving me a BSOD whilst performing testing with BurnIn Test. The PC has crashed at least 4 or 5 times since I started testing with BurnIn Test. In addition to attaching the required files for fault finding I have taken the liberty of linking to the following additional information -

Here are two screen captures that represent the error message as shown under Windows -

Following are two files from the 1st BSOD occurrence (both were indicated as additional information within the BSOD message - as shown above).

    MiniDump File

    SysData

In an effort to fault find this issue on my own I have changed the graphics card over and tested, however results are comparable, with the same BSOD message being presented.

Finally here is a link to the attached RAR file - SF_15-10-2013.rar

Any help here will be greatly appreciated. I have really been looking forward to putting this new PC through it's paces!

    Kind Regards,

    Davo

    Code:
    Probably caused by : storport.sys ( storport!StorPortNotification+22 )
Make it sure that the Intel 840 series SSD is running with the up-to-date firmware. If so, then we have to take care of the storage controller drivers. So let us know.

    Hello Arc,

Thank you very much for your input here. I am using the Samsung 840 EVO Series hard drive, as a result I am wondering where I should update the firmware from (Samsung or directly from Intel - as you originally suggested).

    Cheers

My earnest apologies. I posted a blunder there. Your SSD is Samsung, and you need to update it from Samsung only.

SOLUTION: Use newest drivers from the Gigabyte Site! :)

    Hi Everyone,

I have managed to make this system stable, now at just over 49 hours running BurnIn Test (CPU, RAM & Graphics running at 95%).

Ultimately the issue came back to drivers, I used the drivers supplied on the CD that came with the motherboard, and these were dated as late September (2013).

Screen shot of the CD folders -

I downloaded the most recent drivers from the Gigabyte Site, dated at the 1/10/2013 and everything is working well.

I also noticed on the Gigabyte Site that the F4 BIOS was released on the 5/09/2013 - and in all likelihood it was shortly after this that they updated the relevant driver files.

Lesson here, when playing with high end kit always download drivers from the manufacturers web site (the CD that comes in the box basically belongs in the BIN!).

Thanks for all of your assistance.

    Kind Regards,

    Davo
