New pc build! Help! Bsod random times!

I have gotten a BSOD about 10x now at random times while installing something. is my hard drive bad?
Everything seems to be working then BAM BSOD. Then works on restart..... I am still trying to install all these damn windows updates.
I have installed the drivers from the motherboard driver cd and installed the current graphics driver for my graphics card.
I actually got a BSOD during a graphics driver install earlier and it would freeze everytime on the "Starting Windows" screen so i formatted the drive and reinstalled windows. so annoying....

i have to RMA my motherboard. RAM Slot 1 and 2 unfortunately dont work. In the manual it says Slot 2 and 4 for dual channel support. Im guessing thats why i would get random blue screens. I will post more on this thread when i get my new motherboard with working memory slots
