When does bsod appear? after of before login. You see win7 animation logo?

Try to boot to "safe mode" and tell at what stage it crashes

    when it started

think this started cus of malware or virus.a friend put on avg and after multiple scans and checks(keeping the old windows it seemed ok.after a few days it became really slow startin up ten min plus but once loaded seemed fine.after a few days it happened again so i tryed formatting it but half way thro brought up the blue screen saying hard drive system faliure so i did it in safe mode and again seemed ok.a few days later fed up i tryed a format again after three attemps it finally went on.when you turn it on it brings up the inspiron logo and windows log then says start windows normally or scan disc check runnin the disc check brings up the above errors. now 200 plus updates later still the same and the graphics seem odd to big than they normally are
