    Random BSOD mostly ntoskrnl.exe

    Hi!

My PC is 1 year old and since I've got it produced a lot of BSODs. It seems a random event, i got BSOD when play games, surf internet, watch movie, do file operations, and also when pc was idle. I tryed more Windows 7 versions legal and integreted warez version too. I tryed latest stable and beta drivers too.
When Ive got the pc I ran memtest86 in all slot 8 passes, and then all dimm in one slot too, so i think its not a memory problem.
    I didnt overlock any hardwares.
    My PC:
    cpu: i3-2120
    mboard: ASRock B75 Pro3
    memory: 2x4GB Patriot 1333 dual channel (PSD34G13332)
    gpu: Sapphire hd 7770 vapor-x
    ssd: Samsung 830 Series (64GB SATA3 MZ-7PC064B/WW)
    hdd: Maxtor 300GB (6L300S0)
    Seagate 2000GB (ST2000DM001)
    psu: Thermaltake TR2 RX W0146RE 450W

The system is on the SSD. I suspect the Seagate HDD because i had to do sometimes chkdsk, sometimes it has found faults sometimes not.

I want to change to win8.1 but before I buy it I want to know what cause the BSODs.

I have about 50 minidumps, maybe you can find something important in them.

(Sorry for my weak english, not my mother language.)

    Welcome to the forum.

There are no outdated drivers which means it might be a hardware problem.

Get rid of intel rapid storage.
Right click on "my computer" icon and click "manage" on the context menu.
It will open the "computer management" window.
Select "Device Manager" in the left pane, It will list all the existing devices up.
Expand "Disc Drives" by clicking on the triangle in front of it.
Select one item under it, right click, uninstall.
Continue the process for all items under "Disc Drives"
Now restart the computer. At restart, windows will auto configure the appropriate system driver, msahci.sys.
I did it but didnt help, i ve got bsod since then.

Microsoft Security Essentials & the Free version of Malwarebytes, update and make full scans separately:
I had clean intalled Windows with only MSE and i got bsods same frequency than now with clean intalled Windows with Avast. So not the Antivir program causes the problem.
I did full system scan with Kaspersky Rescue Disk and Malwarebytes, my system is not infected.

    System File Checker
    I ran it, no problem.

Run Disk Check in Windows 7
I ran it and it founded errors and did repairs but didnt solve my promblem, i ve got bsods since then. I think not the chkdsk problem causes the bsods but the bsods cause the chkdsk problems.

Use Crystal Disk Info to upload a screenshot of your Hard Drives (s).
    Attachment 291012

Then test your Hard Drives (s) running a Hard Drive Diag.
I ran SeaTools for DOS long test for the Seagate and the Maxtor hdd and it didnt find problems.
Is there diagnostic tool for my Samsung SSD? I didnt find it.

Check for heating issues using Speccy or HWmonitor
My PC had never heating issues.
I got bsods several heating situation:
-when i was away from keyboard and the system was idle - cold
-after then i turned on the pc - very cold
-surfing on internet - average cold
-in the middle of a lot of gaming - warm
When i ran system stress tests like aida sress test and prime95 the maximum cpu temperature was 70C, the maximum gpu temperaure was 66C.
    So its not heating issue.
    Attachment 291013

Test and Diagnose RAM issues with MEMTEST86+
Ive run memtest for 12 hours, 9 passes 0 errors.

    Additional informations:
I have the latest motherboard bios version
I have the latest firmware version on the hdds, ssd, hd7770

    Welcome to Seven Forums krissz.

Have a look in your BIOS hardware or monitor section. See what voltages you have there. Post what it shows for 3.3V, 5V, and 12V.

HW Monitor will also give the volts while in Windows.

Did you do the tests Koolkat listed?
    Your voltages are OK.

You can get a screenshot of UEFI BIOS by inserting a formatted USB stick and then going to BIOS. Press F12 to capture what you are looking at to the USB stick.

You can see what tests i did in the 3rd post of this thread. here

I couldnt test only my SSD because i didnt find test tool for it.

    About the prime95 error result?

The Prime95 error can be from too little CPU Vcore (voltage) or a RAM issue. Is the RAM operating at it's specifications? I have 2 machines that won't run Prime but work well in all other ways.
Your hardware has passed in all tests, all I could think it may be is a bad motherboard. Unfortunately there is no test we can do for that. You can give ASrock a call and speak to a tech there explaining what you've done.

You can also try a freshly downloaded BIOS and reflash it in case it is corrupted or out of date.

RAM's spec is 1.5V. I use it on auto now but it was a period i manually set it to 1.5V but didnt solve my problem. Ive never change the cpu's voltage.

I flashed the newest bios 4 days ago and didnt solve the problem, got bsod since than.

There is guarantee most of my hardware components but the problem is that sometimes i dont get bsod for a week, sometimes i get 3 in a day and i do the same things in the two periods. I dont want to send any component and give it back with comment it has no problem.

As I stated give ASrock a call, I have in the past. Not a good experience, sorry to say, I still have a board that won't even "turn on" yet they claim they fixed it and checked it out.
