    Blue screen of death(?)

Hi, (update)my dell window 7 desktop randomly for the 1st time will not go to start up but only shows a blue screen as of 16 hrs ago-now there is only black...
I've unplugged it after restarting 2 times.
    I can't access system restore.
Any and all ideas/suggestions are so very welcome
    Bobby
Note: I can't get any more info from the computer for example:a screen shot since I can't get past the blue screen.
Note:This is the same computer that I posted a problem with in the past which is now been resolved with a new motherboard.

    HI, thank you for replying.
I can't seem to use that option successfully. I get to the page where I can select 'repair your computer' but then nothing...

Have you tried any of the bootable diagnostic programs?

Hi These are the instructions that I have been following BUT never get to do the part where select a keyboard layout step.

:Remove all floppy disks, CDs, and DVDs from your computer, and then restart your computer using the computer's power button.

    Do one of the following:

If your computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears.

On the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to highlight Repair your computer, and then press Enter.
Right here is where the screen goes back to blue with the curser and freezes.

Select a keyboard layout, and then click Next.

On the System Recovery Options menu, click Startup Repair, and then follow the instructions.

Thank you all for replying, does anyone have an idea of whats going on? Could it be a graphic card issue? When editing some video (before this BSOD issue)-the screen would blank out but come back after a moment. This would happen now and again...would this have anything to do with this issue the computer is having?

A GPU issue wouldn't stop the computer from booting, but may cause the computer to freeze.

Do you have a onboard graphics card you could switch to?

I assume WDO didn't find anything?

    HI, what does WDO mean:)
Also, did a hard drive test and in the middle of it there a message error code: 0142
    Msg: Error Code 2000-0142
Msg: Hard Drive 0 - self test unsuccessful. Status: 79
The given error code and message can be used by Dell Technical Support to help diagnose the problem.
Do you want to continue testing?
    Yes or No or Retry
