    BSOD on File Transfer

    Hi,

So a couple of days ago my laptop encountered a BSOD when transferring large files to an external hard drive. the time I was using Teracopy and during the file transfer would hang a while before the crash occurred. I first thought that Teracopy might be damaged and removed it.

However Windows own file transfer ended up doing the exact same thing. I then thought it might be a problem with the drivers and so I began updating them using SlimDrivers. Updating the drivers also caused a BSOD, typically when trying to update the Realtek HDMI Audio Driver.

I decided to check my RAM next so I ran Memtest86+ on both sticks individually but both came back clean. I ran the Windows disk check on the hard drive and it also came back without issue.

However, I then ran HD Tune and it showed up several bad blocks.

I have a screen shot of the BSOD screen as well.

I've attached the ZIP folder from the diagnostic tool also. Any help you could provide me would be appreciated. I use the laptop for work and I'm stuck with the BSOD coming up every so often.

The zip contains no crash dump. But a stop 0x7A, Kernel Data Inpage Error (as per the screenshot) often caused caused by a failing HDD, and as you know that there are some bad blocks on your 250 GB Hitachi HDD, better you replace it.

But, you may try a disc check that will attempt a recovery of the bad sectors as stated in Option 1 Point 6 of the tutorial Disk Check.
