PSOD BCCode 117 after Welcome Screen.
Hi All,
I really hope someone can help me here. I have what I believe to be a driver issue.
Every time I boot my PC cold I get a Pink Screen of Death, there is very little showing in event viewer and the only time I managed to get any sort of log during boot was this one:
I am unsure if this is even related to the PSOD or is an entirely different issue but I am trying to give you guys enough info to help me.Code:Problem signature: Problem Event Name: BlueScreen OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48 Locale ID: 2057 Additional information about the problem: BCCode: 117 BCP1: FFFFFA800802C010 BCP2: FFFFF8800733E2B0 BCP3: 0000000000000000 BCP4: 0000000000000000 OS Version: 6_1_7601 Service Pack: 1_0 Product: 256_1 Files that help describe the problem: C:\Windows\Minidump\103113-14882-01.dmp C:\Users\AllUsers\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-30544-0.sysdata.xml Read our privacy statement online: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=104288&clcid=0x0409 If the online privacy statement is not available, please read our privacy statement offline: C:\Windows\system32\en-US\erofflps.txt
My first reaction was that my GFX card was failing as I know the GTX 280 was prone to that particular problem. But I am leaning away from that now for a couple of reasons.
1. This issue was not present until shortly after I upgraded my sound card, this could be a coincidence but it just seems fishy to me.
2. If I boot into my new installation of Ubuntu, it boot's first time, every time without any PSOD whatsoever.
I consider myself pretty PC literate but this problem has me beat. I really don't want to pay for a new GFX card only to discover that is not the problem.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
