BSOD at random times code x93
My wife's computer has developed a BSOD. I believe it to be hardware related, but before I start buying new RAM, hard drives, and other stuff I figured I would hit you guys up. The BSODs seem to happen overnight, it's rare that it BSODs during the day. It has never happened while the system is being used. After a restart, it will sometimes go right back into a BSOD but has yet to BSOD three times in a row. Additionally, but I don't think related, Windows update has stopped working. It claims there is an issue with .NET4. I have attempted to resolve the issue, but have not been successful at this time.

Welcome
![]() Unfortunately files are missing, so I'm not getting the full picture. The dumps are not present as well as other important files. Please run the SFDT again and let it run its course it can take 15min at times to collect all the data necessary. There should be eight files generated not including the dumps. |

Thanks, but unfortunately no dumps in that one either
![]() Look for the dumps manually in the minidump folder, if files are present copy them to the desktop and upload. Code:
C:\Windows\minidump |

I know it has been a few days since my last response. I went looking for the minidump and there was nothing in the folder. I went back into system properties to ensure it was dumping it to the right folder, and it wasnt. Made that change, and waited for the system to BSOD again. It finally did last night, nothing in the minidump folder. So I will attempt to setup the system again and wait for the next BSOD

Awaiting your next update
![]() In the meantime some BCCodes generate a dump in different location, please look here. Code:
C:\Windows\LiveKernelReports\ |

Another though worth mentioning is to disable the 'Automatic restart on system failure' feature
that way if we don't get a bug check again you can at least provide some hints as to what is going on by posting a picture of the BSOD. Follow this tutorial and select Disable Automatic Restart on System Failure that way it won't restart right away and you can snap a picture of the BSOD. Upload it here. |
