Hi All,
First of all, I know that this thread is quite old, but I wonder to share with you guys my experience....
2 days ago I faced a similar problem with my Win7 (enterprise-64bits). BSOD issue QUITE similar to T
the one that milindsmart described. I read a lot of threads in different forums (a lot of garbage and non-technical solutions (or not useful ones)), also MS KBs and articles.... BUT I found THIS thread in particular very interesting in the way you guys took the time to investigate the issue and try to resolve it.
so, going back to my issue, --The funny thing here is that I was unable to use my restore points! (I am sure I had the ones created by the system and some created by me). but... they were lost in some "system action"...--, i was unable to boot win7, only recovery console. I used a hirens boot cd (lunched a mini-xp but my physical disk was not recognized). the only way to have access to the drive was by msft recovery console.
I deleted bootcat.cache, as it is mentioned in: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/981833
but the SOLUTION was this:
--From a machine with the same version of the OS you have, get the following files:
- bootcat.cache (from c:\windows\system32\codeintegrity )
- all the files inside "{F750E6C3-38EE-11D1-85E5-00C04FC295EE}" folder inside: c:\windows\system32\catroot\{F750E6C3-38EE-11D1-85E5-00C04FC295EE}
NOTE: in my case, this folder was empty!!!!
IT SOLVES THE PROBLEM!!!! :)
