    BSOD while browsing, error 0x000000d1

Hi all. Got a BSOD while browsing the net, and wanted some input on it. Computer is a custom build, i5-3570K processor using the onboard video. The error code is 0x000000d1 and the driver is ntoskrnl.exe. If there is any other info needed, let me know. Thanks in advance!

    Hi Catfish666.

Your Asmedia XHCI (USB3) controller driver is old.
    Code:
    fffff880`05d0e000 fffff880`05d72000 asmtxhci (deferred)
        Image path: \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\asmtxhci.sys
        Image name: asmtxhci.sys
        Timestamp: Thu Nov 03 08:30:22 2011 (4EB203C6)
        CheckSum: 0006C541
        ImageSize: 00064000
        Translations: 0000.04b0 0000.04e4 0409.04b0 0409.04e4
Update it from Station-Drivers - Asmedia drivers & firmwares.

Free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.

    1. Click on the Start button
    2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
    3. Select the “Startup” tab.
    4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
    5. Apply > OK
    6. Accept then restart.

    Let us know the results.

Is it normal that this site you linked me to has newer drivers than Asus' support page?

ASUS doesn't have the latest drivers listed. And it is difficult to search for drivers in Asmedia. As the driver is not developed by Asus, it is not a must to get from them.

Ah, gotcha. Well, I did as you suggested and updated the driver and cleaned out my startups. So far, so good, but it was only the one BSOD yesterday, so I'll wait and see if it happens again. Thanks for your help!
