I was, but since I started the disc repair safe mode would not be able to get to the login screen as it freezes after loading the list of drivers. When I try to open it up under normal conditions then the disc check automatically starts

You can skip the test for that boot cycle, it should give you ten seconds to press a key on your keyboard.

OK I'll have to try that but I will be busy for a few hours, will come back later with results.

Something interesting happened, so I restarted my computer to open up the desktop, but it automatically opened some System Repair that attempted to fix my HDD and it said something along the lines of "If the repair was successful, then Windows will boot up normally. If not, System Repair will reopen and continue to fix the problem." Then, Windows booted up normally. It has not BSOD'd yet. However, it seems (slightly) slower than usual, and then there's uploading. When I try to upload from the afflicted laptop, the menu comes up, but when I click "Choose File..." Google Chrome crashes. When I tried before, to upload my SF report file, my whole computer froze. So that's a bonus.

Anyways, I am on a different computer right now so here is the results of the Crystal thing.

Combining the fact about your PC being extra slow and apps are crashing along
with kernel bug checks and just to top it off you're unable to perform a CHKDSK
and CDI is showing all those errors.
It appears you have a defective HDD that needs to be replaced :\ .

so what happened is the system repair was able to repair the HDD for now but it will most likely be a problem again in the future right?
