Black Screen (not blue) Happening on every boot?

Sorry if this post is wrong forum seemed the most appropriate...

The machine boots normally to the windows login screen then when I login with either of the 2 users accounts that were originally on this machine the screen goes black I can see the curser. I am able to launch task manger I was able to create a temporary user that brought me to a windows desktops. I must have had some corruption on my harddrive as the machine requested a chkdsk witch I ran (don't believe it actually made any corrections tho). The weird thing is that I was able to get it to boot once to my normal profile after several reboots via task manger. The last thing that I did to get to work the one time was fix a driver issue with my fingerprint scanner. My suspicion is that there is corruption in my registry. the only thing that seems to show in the event log is...
