Random BSOD's - probably caused by kaspersky
Hi
A while ago I started getting these blue screens, I had not installed any new programs at that time when it started, it is completely random.
I tried to read a bit about this before posting here, so here are some information that might help (or might not):
- it happens even when the laptop is still cool (just started) .. so its probably not a temperature related issue.
- I got this "bluescreen view" program, where it somehow shows what drive is causing the problem, it seems like kaspersky pure is involved in the action!! Although I have the same kaspersky since i dont know when, maybe 2011 or something, and i didnt change it, update it, or anything. But for some reason it started to make problems now.
- I read somewhere that one of the ways to fix the problem is to physically disconnect the memory and some drives and I dont know what, and then reconnect them again, I dont know for what reason. And that got me thinking, if bluescreens could be a hardware problem, then maybe this will help: I have a cooling pad that is constantly connected to my laptop, and my laptop has been sitting on it for more than a year now. And every now and then when I lift the laptop, I see some dust and lint and all kinds of dirty things, but I never clean it .. furthermore, I had the battery removed because it's dead and I read somewhere that if the battery is completely dead and there is no hope of it being alive again, it should be removed from the laptop, so I did, and I was wondering if the fans of the cooling pad were blowing dirt into my laptop, which might somehow be a cause to these bluescreens.
anyways, I know I dont take any kind of care with my computer, and I know its really old, but for me i dont need it to do a lot, I just want to be able to do simple work without it restarting randomly causing me to lose my work. Also, I do not have a windows CD, so re-installing windows is not an option for me, I'd rather buy a new laptop, however, I really dont want to buy a new one because this one is doing just fine.
So, any help??
Thanks
