Getting lots of BSOD errors(0x000000d6,0x000000c9 and other)
This all started happening last night, I would constantly get a prompt saying that some program has stopped responding and to close it. As soon as I close it, few minutes later it happens again. Only thing is that it was not really a program, it was just gibberish.exe. I even tried to look at the fault path but there was never any program tho.
After that happened maybe 10 times, I get my first BSOD. I start trying to figure what happened, same thing again. I figure it might be the new graphics card(an msi 7870), so I uninstall it and reinstall my old one. Same thing happens so I just call it a night.
I started it up this morning and I notice that the network icon is taking forever to load up and my antivirus gets stuck and takes forever to load(this usually happens in a few seconds, now it is taking minutes) and a little while longer I get the error message, but instead of choosing close the program I just minimize the dialog and it seems to run smooth for a good time. After a while tho, it gives another BSOD. This is where I read about the verifier program. So I run that a few times, and i see it states EtronXHCI.sys as the fault, Etron is the usb3.0 bus driver. So I uninstall it, and the first restart it boots up quick like usual. I try to boot up again but this time it is back to being slow. So I reinstall thinking that is not the problem.
After this I switch the new card(7970) back in and try to install it because at this point I know it isnt the driver. So I uninstall the old driver, turn it off and put the new card back in. Only this time I am unable to install the the driver. Says it can not locate a supported device. I look in the device manager and see the 7970 is listed as a Standard VGA Display, and any further attempts to install fail.
So I boot into safemode(been on it almost 5 hours now), computer is snappy and no errors. This leads me to believe it has to be a conflict/corruption/something along those lines causing this issue.
I hope I adequately described my situation and I can get some help. I just put this new system together over the past couple months so having such a crippling issue is a little disheartening.
