Ntoskrnl.exe bsod after wireless adapter install

Sigh. After attempting to install a netgear dual band wireless usb adapter, I began to have repeated bsod's - about every 20 minutes. I uninstalled the adapter, but bsod has continued to occur. In safe mode (which I am in now) - no bsod. Here is the problem report:
    Problem signature:
    Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
    OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48
    Locale ID: 1033
    Additional information about the problem:

    OS Version: 6_1_7601
    Service Pack: 1_0
    Product: 256_1
Files that help describe the problem:

Uploading zip of minidump here as well.

System was a custom build by local company - no problems for 2 years until adapter installation.

I have tried: 1) attempting system restore - cannot access a restore point before date of adapter install! 2) running anti-malware and anti-virus checks; 3) removing as many processes and programs from startup as I can get away with 4) checking RAM (memtest passed many times); 5) running registry cleaner software (did nothing!); 6) checking to make sure system is using latest drivers for ALL compenents; 7) lots of other stuff! Hopinig someone here can help

    Welcome to the forum.

Norton is a known cause of BSOD's. Please remove it for testing purpose. Use Microsoft Security Essentials.

Recommended from a strict BSOD perspective, compatibility & stability compared to other security software:

Microsoft Security Essentials - Free Antivirus for Windows

    Malwarebytes - Free

Good and Free system security combination.

Reduce items at start-up: Startup Programs - Change

Perform a clean boot: Troubleshoot Application Conflicts by Performing a Clean Startup

Run Disk Check on your Hard Drive(s): Disk Check

Scan with Kaspersky TDSSKiller:Anti-rootkit utility TDSSKiller

ESET online scanner: Free Online Virus Scanner | ESET

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable!:-

Had already removed Norton, run chkdsk (no errors); ran a TDSSKiller app (nothing found); removed all non-essentials from startup, done clean boot. BSODs still happen every 15-30 minutes. I did earlier did a painstaking and time-consuming review of ALL drivers, and though you state some are out-of-date, had previously gotten feedback that all were current. I will uninstall and re-install the drivers mentioned, but am not too hopeful. I am hoping someone will see this post who has had precisely the same issue - BSODs occuring immediately after install/uninstall of usb wireless network adapter - and has been able to fix it, without re-installing windows.

    upload your MSINFO32.nfo file.

    1. Click on the start button
    2. Type "msinfo32" (without quotes) in the search bar of the start menu, click the resulting link. It will open the System Information window.
    3. File>Save. In the "File Name" filed, put "MSINFO32" (without Quote), give the save location to desktop, and click the "save" button.
    4. Give the time for processing, it will save a .nfo file on your desktop.
    5. Zip it, and upload it following the instruction.

    Thanks for suggestions...but I think it's resolved

I had looked at configuration from every angle and couldn't spot a problem. Had run one TDSSkiller previously and gotten zero hits. Downloaded a second, and found rootkit virus, cured it. No BSODs since then. Hats off to Kaspersky!
