    computer freezes when downloading

    Hello everyone,

So when I try to download something my computer will completely freeze up, the only thing that i'm still able to do is move my cursor around. It'll stay frozen untill i force it to shut down (power button), it won't go to a bsod or anything (no minidump files are generated by these freezes). The freeze happens randomly, sometimes it happens fairly fast (after 100mb or so) but most of the times it takes a while (1-3 gb). When the download is small enough it won't cause a bsod (most downloads under 1gb will finish without a problem) but since i use this pc primarily for gaming i download a lot of large files via steam etc and these are the ones that freeze my pc up.

Trying to solve this problem i already did some testing: I've ran chkdsk (didn't find anything), ran the memory test from windows (didn't find anything), updated my drivers, did some virus scans (didn't find anything), ran the seagate tool to check my harddrive some more (didn't find anything) and in the end i ran the driver verifier.

When i ran the driver verifier it got past the bios screen and then immediatly caused a bsod, after the bsod the pc wouldn't start up normally and had to repair to an earlier state but after that it worked as before (still with the freezing problem though). But this bsod did give me a minidump file(i think you can ignore the older one, no idea from when that one is :s)! So after doing all these things the problem still persist and i'm at a loss at what i should do next.

I appreciate any help you can provide,
    greetings liutisal.

Try downloading, installing, and running the program in the link below and see if this doesnt help to resolve the issue.

    hello Matts,

The program showed me wich driver it thinks was the cause of the crash, so i searched around about the specific driver only to find that it probably couldn't be it . Seeing as another driver must be causing the problem then most of the people with this problem were told to do another driver verifier with more specific settings, After restarting my pc with these settings i got past the bios screen and past the log in screen but after that it crashed (2 times in a row, had to restart in safe mode to stop the driver verifier and be able to start up normally again). Here are the minidumps with those 2 crashes included.
