Windows 7: Help with BSOD DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE 0X0000009F

08 Jan 2014   #11

Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

The problem is definitely not caused by the SSD drive, I have reinstalled the original hard drive which is still in the same condition as it was when I bought the laptop and managed to replicate the issue by putting the machine to sleep with a USB3 device attached to it and then awaking the machine I had the same CPU spike, task manager not responding etc until I had to do an har reset. I have 3 different USB3 devices, will try with all of them to see if it makes any difference at all.

Many thanks for the reply, I have installed the latest driver as suggested.
I will try for a few days and see how it goes, and I will also reinstate the SSD and see if this solves the issues there as well.
Will let you know soon. :)

Hi :) and thank you so much for your help YoYo155.
It appears that things have actually improved, although at present I am not using the laptop extensively to say the final word on it. In the meantime I will mark this issue as solved. Thanks again for your time. :)
