BSOD when Git Bash is started

So, this is a strange problem I'm facing these days. My OS is extremely stable except when I try to get Git to work. I don't remember exactly when this problem started but I did have git for windows installed since quite a while and I think this has been a recent occurrence (last 2-3 months)

    What I have tried:

    • Uninstalled and reinstalled Git For Windows
    • Tried their beta releases as well as latest stable release
    • Installed Git on another drive
    • Tried using GitHub for windows as an alternative (Same result)

What I know is it can't be a hardware issue (except my hdd) since I have another OS installed on my secondary 160gb hard drive and git for windows works fine on it.

Lastly, sometimes the screen just freezes instead of giving a BSOD

I searched on google but couldn't find someone else facing this problem.

I have attached the debug files using the .bat file.

    Any help is appreciated! :)

    Hi rgsilent.

It appears to be a network related BSOD, and Internet Download Manager (I am surprised to see it as a contributing element to a BSOD) is involved in it.
    Code:
    BugCheck C5, {fffff8800751a6a3, 2, 0, fffff800033bd9fa}

Unable to load image \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\idmwfp.sys, Win32 error 0n2
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for idmwfp.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for idmwfp.sys
    Probably caused by : Pool_Corruption ( nt!ExDeferredFreePool+13e )

    Followup: Pool_corruption
    ---------
My suggestion to you would be to uninstall Networx, and to update IDM.

    Let us know the results.

So, I closed NetWorx and started git bash and no BSODs so I think it's safe to say that was at fault and the problem has been solved. :)

IDM was on at the time and hasn't caused any issue. This explains the issue arising a few months back as that's when I found out about NetWorx.

Uninstalling it now. Thanks for the help!

Good to know that IDM is in the safe side :)

NetWorx is a problem in each and every case where it is installed, as far as I have seen.

Let us know for any further issue.
