Windows 7: Random hang, no bsod, no error

That's interesting to know Monkeonman. My native resolution is 1280x1024. The hangs completely stopped when I removed all traces of nVidia drivers (so I currently am running my system without even the default drivers, nothing). So as far as I can tell it's nVidia's issue (or a combination of both).

Fortunately I am just using this for work right now. Visual effects don't run without graphics drivers (obviously) so my system looks like Windows 2000. And even watching AVI videos is sluggish. But the rest of the system runs fine.

If I find out they release a new driver that works I'll be sure to post about it here.

If you want a better idea of the rest of my system, take a look.

Peace.

That would be cool

FYI, I am still running NVidia drivers albeit at the lower res. Not sure what that points to, but thought I'd mention it anyway! It could just be that the drivers start getting unstable at the higher res...

**** FIXED IT *******

Major update on my problem, I found out the issue was not directly related to the nVidia drivers! I never figured that flashing my bios would be the solution (especially since there were no problems in safe mode), but sure enough, I updated my bios and have been running (with full aero, gaming, HD videos, etc.) for 8 hours now and no problems!

I have the Intel Extreme Series Motherboard, model DP45SG. I updated from bios revision 0102 to the latest 0121 (about a year apart). No hangs or crashes all day (whereas I couldn't go 5 minutes without one).

Thanks for the help guys, I will be sure to post back if I still see the problem.
