Bsod bad_pool_header

I originally got a BSOD from simply using Chrome or that's what I gleamed from the minidump file, however after attempting to launch windows in safe mode it crashed and restarted, upon attempting to load windows I received another BSOD with BAD_POOL_HEADER (Unfortunately I do not recall what the original one from using Chrome was but it was about drivers). I was put into the repair windows mode where nothing was done successfully, I then restarted and launched windows from last known working configuration and created a system restore point and restored the system (I left the computer backing up files without Chrome open for several hours and it didn't BSOD, however I have yet to test to see if it's safe from BSODing with Chrome on the last working configuration).

Hi parasite.

The crash dump itself is not providing any significant information to begin the troubleshooting. But it is apparent that some issue is there with your Antimalware, and vtoolbar Updater (c:\program files (x86)\common files\avg secure search\vtoolbarupdater\17.3.0\toolbarupdater.exe

Uninstall all your Antivirus programs, including AVG. Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus (it seems that you have it installed, too. Keep it there) with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.
Download, install and update those, and then run full system scans with both of them, one by one.

Free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.

Click on the Start button
Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
Select the “Startup” tab.
Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
Apply > OK
Accept then restart.

And, NetWorx is a bad thing. It causes BSODs everywhere where it is installed. Get rid of it.

Ok I uninstalled AVG toolbar, did not even realize that was still there. I've also uninstalled networx, was not aware that it caused BSODs, unfortunate it's a rather convenient program, would you know of any other program that works similarly that doesn't have these issues? I mainly use it to confirm how much bandwidth I'm actively using but it also comes in handy to know if something isn't loading if its because of internet speed or because of something else. Is there anything else I could do with uninstalling?

Since performing a system restore to the point that I created from the last working configuration I've had no issues, is it possible that I had a fluke crash that led to my subsequent problems and once I reverted back to a point before that crash everything is fine? It doesn't seem like it should have fixed things.

Yes, it is all possible. If some driver is bugged out at a certain point of time, and you have restored back to a point before that time, the driver bug will not be there :)
