    BSOD DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE, 0x0000009F

I've been getting this crash/error (randomly) for a few months now. It doesn't happen very often, but it still worries me. I've checked my drivers and I'm not really sure which one I should be looking at to fix this? From what I've noticed it usually occurs while using the computer ordinarily for YouTube or something else on the internet. I don't think I've ever encountered this error while playing any games. The last time it happened I was watching a YouTube video.

Here's the error code upon my computer restarting:

    Problem signature:
    Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
    OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3
    Locale ID: 1033

    BCP4: FFFFFA8018CF5C10
    OS Version: 6_1_7601
    Service Pack: 1_0
    Product: 768_1

    Welcome to the Forum.

Norton is contributing to your BSOD's. Please remove it for testing purpose. Use Microsoft Security Essentials.

Recommended from a strict BSOD perspective, compatibility & stability compared to other security software:

Microsoft Security Essentials - Free Antivirus for Windows

    Malwarebytes - Free

Good and Free system security combination.

Scan with Kaspersky TDSSKiller:Anti-rootkit utility TDSSKiller

ESET online scanner: Free Online Virus Scanner | ESET

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable!:-

So I was doing everything you suggested. I reduced the programs starting with windows to only those I needed. The disk check, SeaTools hard drive test and heating test all looked fine. But I went to install the latest AMD driver for my video card and when it rebooted after installing I got another blue screen!

I couldn't read the whole message before my comp turned off and started a recovery start-up. I recovered to a restore point (which said it failed, but then rebooted and said it worked) and now my laptop seems to be working as normal... Should I upload another SF diagnostic report? Or should I just wait and see if anything else happens?

I attached the log from speccy and another SFdiag log.

The 3 Bug_Checks 9F were CAUSED by Pci.sys and the Bug_Check C9 (Driver Verifier) showed
hidclass.sys was CAUSE. Both of those are Windows components which means something
    unknown drove those to fault.

Be sure to update the BIOS, low level chipset drivers, and other major device drivers.

Are you using any Roxio or Nero programs? These have been known to cause this problem even
if they were working well for a long period of time. If so check with their support.

Check these : Error message when you try to resume a Windows 7-based or a Windows Server 2008 R2-based
    computer from hibernation: "Stop 0x0000009F"
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/977186
Stop error when you put a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 to
sleep or into hibernation, or when you restart the computer: "0x9F"
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/975599
"0x0000009F" Stop error message when a computer enters and resumes from hibernation in
    Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/981848
This one is possible if BlueScreenView OR MyEventViewer (or EventViewer) shows the appropriate code.
Windows Kernel event ID 41 error in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2: “The system has
rebooted without cleanly shutting down first”

    And :
"Stop 0x9F" or "Stop 0xFE" error on a Windows 7-based or Windows Vista-based computer that
uses certain AMD USB EHCI host controllers

I do not have any roxio or nero programs installed. I updated my BIOS and my video drivers the other day and I haven't had an error since... The problem is the BSOD is so random and doesn't seem to have a common correlation to what I'm doing so I can't tell if it fixed the problem or not.

I'll update if anything happens again. Thanks for your help.

I just received another BSOD. This one was different though, and it happened while I was playing Skyrim. I had a lot of tabs open in Chrome at the same time as well.

It said something about "Windows Driver Framework Violation."
