    Blue screen error message

When I sghut down Win 7 my computer gies to a blue screen that tells me that Windows has encountered some sort crash shutdown and is collecting data in the "crash dump" or some such thing. It then restarts. After the restart, which appears to be normal, ot gives me a message that it wants to recover and do I want to look for a solution. It then goes away and the computer works normaly.
    1. What is going on here? I can hold down the power button on the computer and get it to stop, but if I don't do that it will continue to restart over and over.
    2. How do I get rid of this? Is there a recover of fix it disc that can rep[air this?
    3. What did I do to make this do this? It was working normally. I do and did have a second H.D. on this computer that was formatted and empty. I loaded ubuntu onto it, but it is completewly seperate from Windows and the H.D. doesn't even appear on the Windows screen when I click on "Computer" and look for the drives etc. Before the download, I could see then H.D and it showed as "empty folder".

    Hello Jim,

Please read the instructions here: Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions, and post back with the needed information. One of our BSOD experts should be by later when able to further help. :)
