    Random BSOD, different errors. Weird sound.


    Hi,

    I have a Samsung laptop and for a past few months I was getting BSOD every two weeks. I haven't done anything with it and now the sound from speakers got weird as well. When I try to play music from youtube I get buzzing sound. And also few BSOD recently. Two of them were when I was trying to scan laptop for rootkits.

    Attached are files from SF debug tool and SF diagnostic. I have scanned for viruses and malware but nothing.

    Laptop is Samsung NP-RY520-A07UK
    windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
    Intel Core i3-2330M CPU @ 2.20GHZ
    Memory 4GB
    Intel HD Graphics Family
    Antivirus Norton 360

    Although this is a first, your problem seems to come from Malwarebytes. The specific driver is
    What is the mbamswissarmy.sys file?
    Deactivate Malwarebytes or remove and see if the problem is solved.
    If it is solved and you still want to use Malwarebytes. If you have the paid version my suggestion is just to use it for scans.
    I use Malwarebytes as most members here there has never been a problem.
    It is my informed opinion that there is a conflict between Norton and Malwby
    You can try Microsoft Security Essentials as an AV. There will be no conflict.

    Thanks for quick reply. That is weird as I have been running both softwares on my other laptop for almost two years now and with no problems.

    I have uninstalled the MalwareByte (it was only free version so I will not be using it again). Would you recommend any other malware scanner?

    After MalwareByte has been removed I got the BSOD again. Zip from SF diagnostic attached. And I still have weird sound when streaming videos from youtube. Would this be a problem with sound driver?

    And I just got black screen as well, with nothing happening.

    This time the driver was different
    NETwNs64.sys
    This appears to be your Wi-Fi driver, BUT. It is also used in Norton. Make a system restore point.
    Uninstall Norton. Replace with Microsoft Security Essentials.
    If the BSODs stop. Reinstall Malwarebytes. if they are gone. I would leave well enough alone. Forget about what you paid for Norton. There is a conflict, so why pay.
    As I said in my first post, I thought Norton was involved.

    Ok, Ive done as advised and got two new BSOD. One during uninstall of Norton 360 and second one after I have installed Microsoft Security Essentials, updated it and scanned my laptop.
    Also when I was trying to write this reply my laptop froze and got black screen. And still have problem with sound.
    Attached are minidump files.
    Any idea what could be the cause?

    Forgot to mention that I can't turn on real-time protection on MSE after my laptop froze. And the laptop is not very responsive.

    Allow me to explain exactly what is happening.
    The reports that you have been submitting, as a rule, give clues as to the cause. Each report is a bit different and then it is up to the analyst to determine the true cause.
    In your case every time you indicate that the problem has returned and you submit new reports they are all consistent as to the cause. This time it is:
    Driver sabi.sys | ProcessAdvisory.com
    We have to determine the cause using other means. Run in safe mode. Does the problem still occur? Either way report back.
    Did you make the antivirus scan?

    I have started the laptop in safe mode and seems to be ok (at least for now). Laptop is very responsive.

    The audio service isn't runing but i dont know if it supposed to run in safe mode. When I click on the speaker icon it's trying to fix the problem but is unable to do so.

    Problems found:
    One or more audio service isn't runing not fixed

    Keep running in safe mode. If you do not have problems, we will use the clean boot procedure to see exactly what is the cause of your problem
    If you do get a bsod in safe mode, not good, probably means hardware problem.

    No problem. I will keep it running in safe mode and will keep you updated.

    Update: After running it for about an hour in safe mode it is working fine.
