BSOD: 2-3 times/24 hrs; help diagnose

Initially I thought it might be due to an email utility (Mailwasher Pro) I use that checks my email account that displays header info and a few lines before I actually download the emails. One failure seemed associated with that so I turned it off from automatically checking and have just been manually launching it when I want to check email, but the BlueScreens continue.

I've tried to dig around in my log files, but at my level of expertise, don't know where to look or what to look for. The one thing I see is a lot of "error" listings that don't say anything about BlueScreen, but are associated with some kind of Homegroup services. I've been trying to get my two computers to be able to access each other so have been messing with settings associated with Homegroups. See this thread.

I've taken a look at the excellent tutorial on this forum, but it's so far above my level of expertise that it quickly loses me.

I've also followed the instructions for running the utility that collects data needed for assistance from you folks, and the zip is attached.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, but please keep in mind that I'm not very experienced at this level.

Arc...OK, those two things are done, I guess now I just wait and see what happens, if anything, in the next day or two. I'll report back in as soon as I can after a failure, or in a couple of days if none.

I'll also be checking in here in case of any followup.

Hmmm...two crashes in that period! Must have been something else. I know your specialty is BSOD, but as you looked at the data, did you see anything else that might be a clue?

Arc...I posted this message this morning, but when I checked a few minutes ago, my reply wasn't there, so I am now re-posting.

One was overnight and restarted automatically and the other was while my wife was using it, and she left it for me to see later, and by the time I got there the next morning, it had restarted, so again I didn't actually see the BSOD, but knew it crashed and automatically shut down and restarted. I did have one crash myself where it froze and I had to manually do a hard shutdown and restart with the switch.

The symptoms my wife described from one of the times it happened to her were that she was playing solitaire (not MS solitaire, but the old Solitude collection of solitaire card games), the cursor disappears, in about thirty seconds the screen goes blank and the reset button flashes. She did a hard shutdown with the switch and left it off. When it happened to me, everything just froze, and after maybe 30 seconds of nothing responding, I did a hard shutdown.

I guess since your specialty is BSOD, I'd better post to a different forum and reference this thread. Can you suggest an appropriate Windows Seven forum?

BTW...did you change your avatar and picture at the bottom of your posts since early this morning, or is my system doing something else flakey? Sometime during the day, my Gadgets also quit working...only have a clock and a calendar up, but lately, they've been quitting for no apparent reason.
