BSOD at random times daily, error 0x00000124

Here is what I have so far. I've been trying to figure this out as I go, so I'm not sure what information I provide is/isn't important. SF Diagnostic to follow.

BSOD happens anywhere from start up to after hours of intensive use, although it happens more frequently as use intensifies.

I have checked all drivers, detached all nonessential hardware, replaced avast antivirus with Microsoft security essentials, moved/reseated memory, and installed custom CPU fan, all to no avail.

When I check the error in Windbg with !errrec, the details always come up that there is a cache [read/write] error in bank 7, regardless of the processor core or process name. I suspect the processor may be faulty, but I want to make sure before I send it back to Intel. Running their processor diagnostic tool results in either a pass or a crash, but the system crashes so frequently I can't be certain the test has anything to do with it.

Does the IPDT Full Functional test pass? Try an alternate CPU test:
CPU - Stress Test Using IntelBurnTest

If it passes, check your RAM:
    RAM - Test with Memtest86+

You MUST run a minimum of 8 passes with MemTest86+

Before seeing your post, I went into BIOS and forced Vcore to stay at 1.05v (before it has been jumping up to 1.2v, although everything was stock until now). So far, the system hasn't crashed.

IDPT passed three times. IntelBurnTest passed three times. Twice on standard and once on very high.

I've tested before with Memtest86 and passed 8 times, but I haven't tried Memtest86+ yet. I'll do that tonight.

It's only been a day, so I can't be certain that my problems are solved, but it seems like forcing Vcore down might have helped. I never overclocked, and temperature always remained under 70 Celsius, so I'm not entirely confident that dropping Vcore fixed my problem.

Memtest86+ ran 8 passes. Not sure where that leaves us.

See if the system stays stable...if not, upload the new dmp file

Update: no BSOD yet, which I think is a record for this system, but I have have had a few freezes that required a forced reset, no dmp file was created. One of the freezes happened as I was pulling my waste basket out from under my desk; the basket tapped the case and the system froze. I managed to repeat this by gently tapping on the side of the case opposite the mother board, which seems to confirm that the problem is hardware. I disconnected & reconnected most components. *fingers crossed*

It may be worth checking that no connections are shorting against the case.

One week without BSOD... I'm marking this as solved. It seems the BSOD was related to Vcore. The other crashes are probably unrelated, since the system stays stable as long as I don't bump the case. I'll check for shorts when I get a free moment. Thank you very much for all your help!
