    GT70-2OC Random BSODs

    Hello all,

I recently purchased an MSI notebook GT70-2OC from powernotebooks.com. After receiving the product, upon startup, I received different BSOD throughout the session. This went on for a couple weeks, since I was on vacation.
After returning from my trip, I cleaned the SSD (the boot drive) and reinstalled Windows 7 from there. The BSOD essentially stopped, but later returned.

For the first two weeks, I got IRQL errors. I updated the NVIDIA card, Intel chips, and installed a custom driver for the Killer Qualcomm network cards. I also ran the windows memory diagnostic tool and it returned with nothing.

After reinstalling Windows, the BSODs don't appear as much as it used to, but it is still there, this time with mostly KMODE errors.

    I would appreciate the help!

You appear to have a lot of memory related BSODs. I recommend running Memtest86 for at least 8 passes. Lets us know the results.

    Thanks!

I ran the memory diagnostic test again, this time with 8 passes and it found no errors. I also ran Memtest86+ for a pass and no errors. I am thinking about running it again overnight.

In the mean time, is that the only culprit of this problem? My next step is possibly reseating the RAM, maybe this time the slots under the keyboard. Sad part is, I need to get some thermal compound because accessing the current RAM is tucked underneath copper coils that cool the gpu and cpu.

I ran memtest86+ all night and had no errors.

I also enabled driver verifier and it crashed a lot until I picked verify all drivers (if I recall correctly). After enabling driver verifier, I haven't had a bsod attack for a whole day. At this current moment, I am rendering through Maya and had zero problems with the rendering process for my animation.

Here's some instructions on the options to select for driver verifier. Does it crash when running certain processes? I've encountered 0x3D BSODs personally. They're very uncommon and are extremely difficult to solve. It points to hardware though.
