Ok i'm working on that now. The drive deff needs a fw update, I determined that using the crystal viewer program you suggested and the info off the owc site, I am currently troubleshooting why the fw update tool doesn't detect the drive.

Is the tool a bootable one? If so, it is for DOS, and DOS detects IDE sotrage controller only; whereas yours is SCSI/RAID.

In that case, you have to boot into the BIOS, change the storage controller mode to SATA/IDE, update the FW, and then again boot into the BIOS and set the storage controller back to SCSI/RAID.

well i spoke with owc and they aren't sure why i can't see the drive in the fw utility, they setup an rma and we are going to send the drive back and see what happens. I'll post back and we can continue troubleshooting after. Hopefully that resolves the issue. Thanks for all your help !

Ok, so looks like this one may be solved, I got the drive back form OWC and they confirmed that there was a problem with the controller card. They replaced the drive and I have installed a fresh copy of WIN7 x64 ultimate. It is running very smooth. I'll post back if anything
