BSOD atikmpag.sys error
Good day.
I've got a 2-yr old laptop. When I got home last night, my brother said he couldn't play Skyrim cause it kept getting BSOD. Earlier that day, I was able to use it without any problems.
I booted the laptop and got a BSOD that says I've got an atikmpag.sys error; the display driver didn't load correctly.
Things I did:
1. I loaded Safe Mode and scanned for viruses, found nothing.
2. Looked if the file existed, I found it.
3. I tried the Last Known Configuration, but it only worked once. Later on, I kept getting BSOD.
4. My graphics drivers are up-to-date. I uninstalled it and then let Windows install the drivers. After letting it restart by itself, I was able to reach the desktop. I decided to restart it just to check if it will boot without any problems, it got BSOD again.
Right now, I'm able to run my laptop with the graphics driver disabled. I've only disabled the Mobile Intel HD Graphics but when I boot the laptop, I get a problem with my AMD Radeon HD 7450M. It says that either I don't have it installed or it's not up-to-date.
I've read that it's either a driver problem or my hardware got fried. If anyone can tell me where to look and how I'll know if the video card's broken, please do. It's a Dell Inspiron N4050.
Thank you.
