    BSOD Mainly seems to happen when playing Candy Crush on Facebook

    Much to my wifes annoyaance, the PC seems to crash to a BSOD whilst she is playing Candy Crush.

    I have an external USB Drive which I installed about 4-5 months ago but the BSOD have only been happening for a month or so.

    I reformatted C Drive a couple of weeks ago and reinstalled Windows 7, all updates installed, but, it still seems to do it.

    A possible thought was I backed up and restored Firefox Browser and Thunderbird, so may have bought the problem with me

    Appreciate any help

    Hi Tezbedz.

    A stop 0x124 is usually a hardware issue. And it is a very old branded desktop.

    Check if the Power Supply Unit (PSU) supplying adequate power to the computer or not.

    Also let us know the wattage of the PSU.

    Is the computer hot? Report us the heat of the computer after a couple of hours of your normal usage. Upload a screenshot of the summery tab of Speccy. Alternatively, you can publish a Speccy snapshot too: Speccy - Publish Snapshot of your System Specs .

    Test your RAM modules for possible errors.
    How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
    Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.
    If it start showing errors/red lines, stop testing. A single error is enough to determine that something is going bad there.

    Stress test the Graphics Card using Furmark.

    Stress test the CPU.

    Also, if possible, search for possible BIOS updates in ACER.
    Code:
    BiosVersion = R01-B1
    BiosReleaseDate = 12/29/2006
    SystemManufacturer = Acer
    SystemProductName = ASE380/AST180/APM8
    Let us know about your advancements.

    The temperature to the CPU is visually extreme.

    Attachment 311000

    Dismantle the computer. Clean the inside very carefully, without breaking anything. Clean all the air vents and fan grills so that it can vent the hot air out efficiently. When re-seating, apply new thermal paste to the CPU.

    If you cannot do it yourself, get it done by anybody who can; but is is a must, and should be done as early as possible.

    After doing it, observe the situation. If the BSODs are not stopped, then and only then go for the stress testing etc.
