BSOD when inserting USB 3.0 drive

    BSOD when inserting USB 3.0 drive


    Hello All,

    I just got a USB 3.0 drive and when i insert it into my only USB 3.0 USB port i get BSOD physical mem dump. Here are the crash details.

    Problem signature:
    Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
    OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3
    Locale ID: 1033

    Additional information about the problem:

    PS. It works fine when inserting into normal USB port.

    Hi pharaohstar.

    Yes, the BSOD is caused by Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 Host Controller Driver (Version 3.0)
    (c:\windows\system32\drivers\rusb3xhc.sys)
    Code:
    BugCheck 1000007E, {ffffffffc0000005, fffff880075942dd, fffff88008d91468, fffff88008d90cc0}
    
    Probably caused by : rusb3xhc.sys ( rusb3xhc+1c2dd )
