BSOD on browsing, error 0x124 (fine in safe mode)
Upgraded from xp to windows 7. no problems on xp. Started crashing while copying data from external drive and has since.
Using blue screen view;
With kernel memory dumps cause is halmacpi.dll along with ntkrnlpa.exe
With small memory dumps cause is hal.dll with ntoskrnl.exe
In event viewer is is a kernel-power event 41.
Updated chipset driver.

The problem is in the L1 data cache of the processor.
The thing is, it doesn't crash in safe mode, so it's mostly BIOS.
Would like a 2nd opinion before flashing BIOS, but the version hasn't changed.
cpu stress test no problem, but crashes on auto tune in attempt to overclock.
Doesn't heat too.
Could the problem be in the registry ?
Any help welcomed.
