BSOD playing Portal 2, Warframe, and other games, nlvddmkm.sys related

Hey guys, this crash just started happening within the last few days, and it takes about 10-20 minutes to happen once I am inside any game. I get a SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED error related to nvlddmkm.sys. I have cleaned and re-installed my NVIDIA 610M drivers as many others have, and performed a stress test using OCCT. I also performed a memtest for a few hours and all these checked out okay. The only issue I saw was that my GPU was running at 89-90C during the stress test.

Attached is the zip made from the log collector, my driver version is: 335.23

The issues may have started because of the new driver update, as they started happening after I updated my card's drivers. I tried installing an older version, but the installation failed, "could not find compatible hardware".

I really appreciate any guidance you guys can give me, and I will provide any extra information as soon as possible.

    Thanks

Right, although the issue may not be hardware 90C is still very hot even for a stress test. However we must take into consideration that it is a laptop we are dealing with here. I don't normally ask people to change drivers like this as it can cause lots of problems.

Can you go into device manager and expand display adapters, then right click on your GPU and click on roll back driver to see if that helps.

BEFORE YOU DO THIS can you please create a system restore point as it's not always the best way to solve and issue like this.

As I've always said, if it ain't broke don't fix it. This goes mainly for drivers, you updated your GFX drivers, why? I don't unless something requires me to do so or I have an issue. Others may not agree with me on this but I feel as though that is the best way to go.

Well, its the strangest thing. I had recently downgraded from windows 8.1 to 7, and it installed a large batch of updates after the initial install. After this, I have had no problems! I will keep my eye out for any problems, but so far I have been able to play Fallout NV, Warframe, Minecraft, and other games with no BSOD.

Hmm, well it sounded like a driver issue. Keep us posted. If you get any more BSODs upload the dump files.
