    SERVICE_EXCEPTION is the new one, after re installing windows

    i've barely even installed much mostly bc i figured that reinstalling windows would help. guess not. i have no idea what's causing this. and every error code (2) has been a different one, but it has not said anything about a driver. im not too sure what to think of this, any insight/tips would help.

    Hi DurtyGemini.

    The zip you uploaded does not contain any crash dump.

    Follow it: Dump Files - Configure Windows to Create on BSOD
    Go to Option Two, Point 2. Download the .reg file and merge it in registry by double clicking it.

    Now wait for another BSOD. When it occurred, search the .dmp files manually in the default path: C:\Windows\Minidump or %SystemRoot%\Minidump. See if the crash dump is recorded or not (hopefully it will be recorded).Post it following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions.

    Dont run any disc cleanup program before you upload another zip.

    Alright im gathering all the info now, and my latest crash was given this error code, i was not around when it had happened as i was dowloading some games, but i came back logged back into my desktop, and was greeted with, "windows unexpectedly shut down," heres the code it had given me:

    1000007e

    Working on the zip as i post this.

    Im not sure if it had fixed it and grabbed the info but here's my best shot.

    Does it BSOD in the same way if you dont connect the linksys adpater? Have a test on it.
    Code:

    Your situation is very similar to jon0507 of Seemingly random BSOD - PFN list corrupt

    For the USB or PCI adapters, the regular update to the driver is very necessary. Otherwise they cause problems.

    And, a few TP link adapters are out of drivers, that jon0507 also faced. Did you search for the update to the driver to the TP Link?

    A WiFi network adapter with properly updated driver will not cause BSODs, I hope.

    im not too sure how to find one with updated drivers, i went to my local tiger direct store, and the linksys adapter was the one they had suggested to use. im not too sure how to even look for more updated or newer adapters.

    Apply the TP Link adapter. If it BSODs, let us see the necessary files. I will try to search for the driver, if it is there.

    But the Linksys one was not a viable suggestion. If you can have a replacement, get an Atheros one. You will never have a driver issue. Updates are always available.

    the last time i did that, it was a nightmare. more bsods more frequently and it was just a mess. and to be completely honest, i no longer have the disk for it, let alone the drivers i had tried getting from the site never worked for me.

    is the card i used to use, but because of the way my MoBo is, its a pain because of where my GPU has to be when i put that in.

    BTW, Atheros driver Version: 10.0.0.274 should work for that.

    Drivers for Atheros AR5008 and Windows 7

    Release: 2013-11-28

    The downloaded driver says .....
    Code:
    ;/*++

    ;
    ;Module Name:

    ;    netathw.inf
    ;
    ;Abstract:
    ; INF file for installing Atheros AR5008 Wireless Network Adapter
    ;
    ; Installs athw.sys (NDIS 5/5.1 driver) on NT platforms (2000, XP and greater)
