BSOD : 0x00000009A : SYSTEM_LICENSE_VIOLATION
Hello guys,
Once again, I have troubles with my Windows 7
Yesterday evening, I watched a DVD movie on my PC and shut it down prior to read a little bit my book and then go to sleep ( my life my life ... )
This morning, started the PC and got this BSOD... I had to take a video of the starting process with my camera, then play it frame per frame to identify the message as autoshutdown after fail was surely checked on, and so I hadn't any time to read it.
It says the title of this thread... Before you start to attack me, yes I have a genuine Windows 7 Pro 64 bits CD, which I bought this summer, along all my PC components I purchased in order to built my own PC.
If you check my other thread here, you'll see not long ago I had to make a clean reinstall of Windows due to stupid keyboard drivers problems ( caused by Windows Updates ... )
One month later, I don't want to do a clean re-install again because Windows decided to put the mess once again...
I tried to Repair it with the appropriate option when I booted on the Windows 7 Pro 64 bits DVD, but it says "This version of System Recovery Options is not compatible with the version of windows you are trying to repair. Try using a recovery disc that is compatible with this version of windows."
Okay... another sweet surprise from Windows... What should I do now ? I investigated a little bit and found out I would need to burn a DVD with an ISO from Win XP repair disc file hosted on Microsoft website. Nice news, it only support 32bits.
I have no idea why yesterday it worked like a charm and today it tells me more or less I'm trying to pirate the OS I bought full price 10 months ago, and activated online...
What could I tell you more ?
I de-activated all Windows Updates since this last clean re-install ( see my other thread here about keyboards ... ) since it just disabled the fonctionality of it, so not SP1 I believe
When I tried to restore it in the Windows DVD options, I saw the last hardware change was the installation ( I wasn't aware of this ) of a Ws_audio driver... When I tried to restore just prior that event, it told me some " 0x0000f something " memory values couldn't be read etc etc... so I ran the integrated RAM test in the boot options ( F8 ) to see what's going on and it found nothing wrong.
Once again, I'm lost in the myriad of Windows major flaws, and will ask the help and knowledge of you experts ! The only thing I can tell you is that I won't make a clean re-install, I did it one month ago and am still re-installing and setting everything up...

This bug check indicates that the software license agreement has been violated.

It could be inferred more if the parameters you are getting are known to us.
Whatever, the solution is to do a clean install using a genuine media and then activating it using a legit product key.

The fact is that I did'nt modify or try to change the " product type " in any way. May it be a Virus ?
How could I prove you it's genuine ( honestly, I have no time to loose to prove everyone here it is genuine, but if I have to, what should I do ? I have the key that I sticked from the DVD box to the PC case now, and the invoice ) ?
Why it happens from one day to another without any input from my side ? This is why I ask if it can be some kind of malware.

No proof is required, mate. :) We trust on your words.
It might be a malware that is causing that issue. The chance always remains there. But the system is not bootable anymore. So scan the system for possible virus infection with the bootable scanner.
It searches for the infection in BIOS too. So if it detects anything, kill those. Then format the disc/partition and start afresh.
After doing the clean installation, activation and upgrade, post a report following Windows Genuine and Activation Issue Posting Instructions ..... it will help our experts to detect any possible cause from the part of windows activation mechanism itself, which is also needed.

But as I said, I won't do a clean install. I did it one month ago because Windows Updates puts some updates that made my keyboard impossible to work ( useless PC )
I use my PC as a huge workstation, with several simulators to keep up my real world aviation licenses up ( one of this sim is 80Gb of datas ) and several side projects on Computer Assisted Music softwares, as well as CAD development on Solid Works and so much other things..
Those things takes DAYS to be installed and set up properly, as I said, I'm still re-installing everything one month later. I'm sure there is another solution than always make a clean install ...
What would it do if I repair Windows with a compatible ISO booted on an USB or DVD ? If it works, what should I do then to re activate Windows with my original key ? Would it be considered like an evaluation copy forever ?

To perform a repair install, you have to run the installer from within windows. So repair install to a non-bootable system is not theoretically possible.
And, there is no legit way that I know which can give a perpetual evaluation.
Still, I am asking for other opinions.

And why, when I have the original Win DVD at boot, and I select " Repair Windows " it tells me it's not compatible, especially when it's from this very DVD that I installed my current OS and that I didn't applied any Windows Update since ( for above reasons ) ?
I'm lost ...

Have you tried the " Repair Windows " after removing any other HDD attached with the computer?

Yup I've seen that tip on the net and unplugged my SSD and put the main HDD as priority boot.. no luck

I'm not at all sure that a 9a bugcheck is related to actual Windows Licensing - but to internal licenses issued and certificated on-the-fly by the OS. (I've never seen anyone complaining of a 9a while the OS was non-genuine - but there's always a first time!)

Ignore errors produced when clicking on the Copy button - they simply mean that the tool could not create the backup files for some reason. The data is still copied to the clipboard for pasting to your response.
Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!
