BSOD using serial port, error MULTIPLE_IRP_COMPLETE_REQUESTS (44)

    Hello,
We are running a software that uses the serial port on the PC. Most of the time freezes and or restarts showing the BSOD screen, sometimes with DRIVER IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL or KERNEL SECURITY CHECK FAILURE screen, that occurs only when we operate the software. But happens at random times. Sometimes 15min other times could be an hour.

We are using a 2S1P Native PCI Express Parallel Serial Combo Card with 16550 UART from startech PEX2S5531P and a 1 ft USB to RS232 Serial DB9 Adapter Cable with COM Retention algo startech ICUSB232PRO, the motherboard has an integrated serial port too.

The computer has a fresh installation of windows 7 professional

Is it a software problem or a hardware problem? Hope you can help me!

    Hi Roy,

    Thanks for your reply!

I'm sorry but I don't know what KML is, is it a driver or software?

    Thank you!

First of all, take a look at this page and see if there are newer drivers for the USB-RS232 adapter from Prolific Prolific Technology Inc.
And update AMD USB 3.0 driver (check in Snappy Driver Download)
