    bsod while computer idle

Oddly enough; this is the first time Ive ever had a issue with this system where i got a bsod. I had my system sitting idle overnight like i usually do; I turned my monitor on only to discover there was a blue screen of death. However; when i went to look for the dump file to upload it;(and i know this is gonna sound weird) there was no dump file shown. The only thing i saw in the windows folder was something marked memory with todays date and a timestamp from a few hours ago. What can anyone make of this? Is there something Im missing? Thanks matt

Right, the dump files for Small Memory Dump are located
    C:/Windows/minidump

I think by default it's set to Kernel Memory Dump if so then it'll be located
    C:/Windows/memory.dmp

From what it sounds I don't think Kernel Memory Dumps are required, it's better to have minidumps.
Follow these instructions on how to configure.

Dump Files - Configure Windows to Create on BSOD

Once downloaded run the file as Administrator then click Grab All.
A zip folder will be created on your desktop, upload that.

Can you also use something like OneDrive to upload the memory.dmp file as it is too big to upload directly.
If you use OneDrive then just share the link and I'll take a look.

    Additional information is required.

    1. Download the DM Log Collector application to your desktop by clicking the link below

    DM Log Collector.exe

    2. Run it by double-clicking the icon on your desktop, and follow the prompts.
    3. Locate the .ZIP file created on your desktop, and upload it here in your next reply.

It should be a folder created on your desktop.
What are you trying to upload?

Are you sure it's a .zip file?
    How large is the folder?

I believe it is a zip file unless i have to upload the entire folder instead of just a single file because every time i try to upload just the dump file; it says its a invalid file.

Yes, you have to upload the folder. you can't upload individual .dmp files.
