Well, not much info at all in that dump,

I think we'll give Driver Verifier a shot to see if it will point to a driver,

       Information
Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.
Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable

Driver Verifier will cause your computer to run very sluggishly - this is normal. What it is trying to do is force your system to BSOD and isolate the offending driver/s. When it does, reboot, disable driver verifier, reboot as normal and upload the new dmp file/s here.

I recommend creating a system restore point before turning on driver verifier:
    System Restore Point - Create

If your system fails to boot to desktop once driver verifier is enabled, turn it off by booting into Safe Mode:
    Safe Mode

There's a possibility it could be hardware related too, which I would suggest removing the overclock as much as you'd rather not do this it may be necessary, as well other hardware tests.

If you want to try the driver verifier first, we can do that. Below are some recommended hardware tests.

    Let's do some hardware tests

Test your RAM modules for possible errors.
How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.
If it start showing errors/red lines, stop testing. A single error is enough to determine that something is going bad there.

Stress test the Graphics Card using Furmark.
Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark

    Stress test the CPU.
Hardware - Stress Test With Prime95

Are you overclocking? As you are getting BSODs, you should stop overclocking and run all the hardware components like CPU, GPU and RAM to their default settings.

Is the computer hot? Report us the heat of the computer after a couple of hours of your normal usage. Upload a screenshot of the summery tab of Speccy. Alternatively, you can publish a Speccy snapshot too: Speccy - Publish Snapshot of your System Specs .

    Let us know the results.

    Greetings,

    Hope you are well.

Here's an update on my situation.

I ran the MEMTEST overnight for 8 passes and no errors were detected.

I ran the Furmark for 45 minutes. There was no sign of artifacts and my card ran at a constant 81 degrees.

Here is the speccy link requested.

    http://speccy.piriform.com/results/G...6wvxlVGqJnBSIk

This was taken after roughly 20 minutes of idle time followed by 15 minutes of mild usage.

Ive kept a close eye on my system temps the last few days and everything seems to be within working levels. Idle/mild workload on CPU has a range of around 37-45 degrees.

Now heres a game changer. I ran or tried to run the Prime95 program 3 times and was met with the following:

    [Wed May 28 18:40:17 2014]
FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.5, expected less than 0.4
Hardware failure detected, consult stress.txt file.
    [Wed May 28 18:51:43 2014]
FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.5, expected less than 0.4
Hardware failure detected, consult stress.txt file.
    [Wed May 28 18:58:48 2014]
FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.5, expected less than 0.4
Hardware failure detected, consult stress.txt file.

The second processor was failing and then remaining at 0% load while the test would continue on the 3 remaining cores but for only a few minutes as the system would bsod. I didnt try a 4th test in case I did more damage.

When my system was built it was put through a stress test and successfully completed 16hrs 42mins in Prime95 with no errors reported during the burn in. Now I don't know whether these errors are causing the bsod's I've been receiving or whether I've just opened up a can of worms. I've uploaded the recent batch of dump files. The last 3 were caused directly by the Prime95 program.

Ive contacted Scan [the company who built my machine] with regards to these issues and also to inquire about any possible warranty I may still have. I've also referred them to this thread for any information they might need in their own investigation.

Is it still worth running the Driver verifier?

I'd also like to point out that as time goes on with these bsods. My system is becoming more and more sluggish. I run my OS on a ssd for example and if I was to open up a folder, the icons inside could take anywhere between 5 and 20 seconds to load. This change has only started since the bsods started ramping up these last 4 weeks or so.

    Thanks again for any help.

Hi Ken, Derek has asked me to look into your case, so I hope you don't mind my intrusion. I am going to ask you a few questions and to get you to do a couple of things that may make it easier to help you. I scanned the thread briefly and have not had a chance to look at any dump files yet. So, please forgive me if I ask you something that has already been asked. First, I would like you to fill out your system specs as detailed as you can. If you will look in the bottom left corner of your last post, you will see 'My System Specs', you can click that and there will be a link to update system specs. Click that and fill them out in as much detail as you can, complete with brand and model numbers where you can. If you would like to know what we like to see, feel free to click my system specs at the bottom left of this post and you will see mine. If you have trouble with anything this will help you. System Info - See Your System Specs.

I would like to know if you are still overclocked. As you can see from the badge below my signature, I am not opposed to overclocking if done correctly. But, as an overclocker I can tell you that if you are not stable at stock, you will never have a stable overclock. I can also tell you that after you run your computer a while, parts wear and change some and just don't work like they did when new and require some adjustments. Much like your car, or any other piece of equipment.
I would also like to know if you overclocked the system yourself or was it done by someone else. In case you don't know, you can put an empty flash drive in your computer and boot into BIOS, and whatever page you are looking at press F12 and it will put a picture of exactly what you are looking at on the USB Flash drive. So, if you are concerned about loosing your overclock, you can have every setting in your BIOS to help you reset it whenever you are ready. You can also save the current settings in your bios, so that you can just load those settings whenever you want to. I may even like you to upload some screenshots later, so I can see what was done.

I assume from your last post that you still have driver verifier still on. Am I correct?

If you don't already have it, would you please download and install CPUz and Core Temp.

CPUz has a lot of information that may be helpful and is a well respected program as is Core Temp. Core Temp is a CPU temp monitoring program and also has some helpful information on it. But, never use but 1 temp monitoring program at a time. Sometimes when more than 1 program is reading a sensor, they can get bad readings. I would like you to open CPUz and post screenshots ( Screenshots and Files - Upload and Post in Seven Forums ) of the CPU tab, the Mainboard tab, the Memory tab and the SPD tab. The SPD tab is for your ram and in a dropdown box in the upper left corner you can select each Dimm slot. I only need screenshots of the Dimm slots which are populated with ram.

I would also like you to post a screenshot of Core Temp after your system has been at idle for about 15 minutes. Maybe while reading email or something.

Also, in your system specs please include the manufacturer and model number of your Graphics card. Nothing real hard, for example my card is an EVGA GTX 780 Classified. That is all I want. Also, do you have a utility with the card that will monitor temps and allow you to create a custom fan profile? If not, I will suggest one for you. You can set Core Temp and your GPU monitoring programs where the temps are shown in the task bar so you will know what your temps are at any given time. I always have mine that way.

If I ask you to do something and you don't understand the instructions or have any questions as to why, please feel free to ask. I don't mind explaining at all. Also, if you would, please include what CPU cooler and case you have in the system specs.

    Greetings Essenbe.

I don't mind your intrusion at all. Anyone sporting an ObiWan avatar is welcome anywhere.

I have updated my system specs as best I can. inc my cooler and case.

I am still overclocked yes. It was done by a company called Scan here in the UK who specialize in building custom machines for customers. My full overclock settings were emailed to me after my system had past its quality assurance tests incase of emergencies so at least I have these on hand. Included in the email were these 2 warnings:

*Please DO NOT flash the BIOS of your Motherboard or your VGA card without confirmation via e-mail or phone from our 3XS System Support department. Records are kept on what versions are used and if those records do not match, the warranty of your motherboard or VGA will be void.

*NOTE - Your system is currently Overclocked. Please do not change the 3XS-Overclock power scheme in Windows as this is configured to prevent issues with the Overclock and certain power saving features. Options such as Sleep, Hibernation, Screensavers and desktop slideshow must all be disabled. However, if you wish to enable these power saving features, please load Profile 1 in your BIOS

Regarding Driver Verifier. I have yet to enable/use this at all. From Dereks last post I was just working through the hardware tests before I hit a snag with Prime95 before posting my last comment. I have a 2 year warranty which will lapse in roughly 3 months so I was hoping to find any hardware problems asap.

I have also uploaded all the screenshots you requested.

I use EVGA Precision X to keep an eye on my GPU temps.

I think I hit everything you asked. Please let me know if you need anything else.

    Thanks in advance o7

I understand Scan's instructions to you. However, the results you received when running Prime95 is typical of not enough Vcore on your CPU. I also assume from your screenshots that your BIOS is set to Manual Vcore for the CPU. If anything I say is not correct, please advise me. Your ram looks OK. Your BIOS is 2 years old, and I am sure there are updates for it. I will check. I understand they told you not to flash it. If you would, please boot into bios and tell me the value of your +12V,+5V and +3.3V. In my opinion, I believe your Vcore is set too high for your overclock, but that is another story, I guess. Do you happen to know what Profile 1 is? I am referring to the bios settings.

Please click the start button and type cmd in the search bar, right click on the cmd entry that appears and select run as Administrator. You will get a window that opens, copy/paste this into the window and hit enter. sfc /scannow . If you decide to type it, notice the space between sfc and the /. It is a system file checker that will scan system files and attempt to repair and missing or corrupted files. We want it to come back and say it found no integrity violations. If it says it found but could not repair the files, close the window, reboot the computer and repeat the process again. You may have to do that up to 3 times or until it gives us the desired result. Also, please click the start button, type device manager into the search window and click on the device manager entry that appears. Please tell me if there are any entries there with yellow triangles on them or a small exclamation mark on them.

I realize it is getting pretty late in the UK. You can wait until tomorrow to do this if you wish. Communication between us will be slightly awkward due to the time differences. I have a friend in the UK and we try to keep in touch regularly, and it is difficult, so I understand.

I recall you mentioning that you had talked to Scan about your computer problems. What did they tell you? I only ask because I understand their position on bios flashes and changing values in BIOS. However, that also rather limits us in what we can suggest also.

What about your SSD and any firmware updates? I am familiar with SSDs as I own 8 of them and firmware can cause issues also. But, I am not familiar with Corsair SSDs. Do they have a program that tells you about firmware and the health of the drive and such as that? When you have the opportunity also please download the Western Digital diagnostic program and run it on your 2 mechanical hard drives. I realize there is an office in the UK, but the only one I am aware of is in the US, which won't really matter. I would like you to download the data lifeguard for DOS and run the short and the long drive self test on each drive. If you can't get the DOS program to work, you can use the windows installer program and run it from within windows, but the DOS program will do a better job. The US link is WD Support / Downloads / SATA & SAS / WD Black

If you have any problems, just ask. I don't mind a bit.

EDIT: I just checked your last Dump file and there is not much info in it at all. It is a general hardware fault that gives no information on what the problem was.

    Greetings.

I got this response from Scan today.

    **
    Hi kenelee

Can you confirm if you are getting these issues with or without the Overclcock as that could be why the Prime 95 produced such an error

You can try running on the Non Overclocked Profile to see if its the Overclock causing the issue
If you find the system is stable we can give you some more tweaks to see if it helps with the overclock and I would advise you try this before doing a reinstall

Restart the system and Tap Del to enter the bios

    Goto Tools
    Asus OC Profile

Load from Profile (Press Enter) select 2 (For Overclock)
or Load from Profile 1 for Standard Non Overclocked Settings
Press Esc then F10 and Save the settings and exit

If you have any external drives, USB flash drives etc please unplug these prior to allowing the system to reboot as these can alter the boot sequence so if in doubt only have plugged in what was first setup here at Scan.

If the system is also producing the same error with the Standard profile and Prime 95 then its a suspected failing CPU in which case we can collect the system as you are in the second year and replace this under warranty and you would only need to pay carriage and packaging if you havent saved it

Let us know how you get on and you can liaise with us through systemsupport@scan.co.uk as that will come to all the support team

    Regards

    Ben

I guess this answers your questions as to what profile 1 is.

I dont have any free time in the next couple of days so over the weekend I will load my system using profile 1 and run the prime95 test as they ahve suggested. I will also grab you them +12V,+5V and +3.3V values as requested.

I did the sfc /scannow a handful of times and each time it came back clean with no errors.

As for my harddrive. There is a tool I use called Corsair SSD Toolbox that I have used to TRIM the drive. It is specifically intended for the maintenance of Corsair SSD's and does come with a Firmware update tool. I have never used this as my tech level is very low and I didnt want to break anything. If you say it is safe to do this without it changing anything about my system then I will gladly go ahead and update the firmware.

About the hard drive lifeguard diagnostics you wanted me to perform, I will also do these this weekend when I have more time.

Finally about the time zones. Dont worry. My life schedule puts me awake during all of the US evening times and most of your night. So communication should flow relativity freely.

Thanks again for your help, it is much appreciated.

That sounds good. Running Prime at stock is what I wanted to do. However, I would be quite surprised if the CPU were bad. The CPU rarely goes bad unless it has be very harshly treated which yours has not. The CPU is the last component to suspect. Please be sure to watch your CPU temps very closely while running Prime. The CPU temps will rise very rapidly and get pretty high. That is what a stress test is supposed to do. But, if they get in the danger zone, stop the test. If a core shuts down, stop the test then too.

I only suggested the hard drive tests to cover all bases. I have not seen anything to cause me concern about them. A SSD firmware update can or cannot be destructive to your data, usually the Manufacturer will tell you which. However I would back up your personal data first No matter what they say. Regular backups are an excellent habit to get into in any case. At some point you will lose your OS and/or data, no matter what. Just a word to the wise. However, SSD firmware updates are usually done to correct problems or enhance performance. So, it is a good idea to do them.

I am in no hurry. So, take your time to run the tests. If I may suggest, since you have only a short time left on your Warranty, if it were me, I would run every test there is to run on my system and make certain there are no problems. If it were mine, I would run Prime for at least 12 hours as long as the temps hold up, which they should at stock with your cooler. If you need any help, feel free to ask. You can post here or send me a private message if you would like. Please keep me posted.

    Howdy, hope you are well.

I hope this isnt asking too much but when you said.....

" if it were me, I would run every test there is to run on my system and make certain there are no problems."

Would you be so kind as to list the tests you would run and for their duration. Im spending the entire weekend on nothing but my rig to try and finally crack it. I want to make sure I get everything covered and checked.

I will keep you updated on my progress and will report back on any further bsods I receive in the process.

    Thanks in advance.

Hardware - Stress Test With Prime95 I would run it at least 12 Hours, but be sure to keep a close watch on CPU temps. If your temps get within 15C of your Max, shut it down. Click, file > Stop.

Memtest86+ ( Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool) at least 8 Passes or until you get an error. 8 Passes will take 9-10 hours. I would run version 4.20. You can download the Zip file which contains an ISO file and just click on it and use the Windows image burning tool to burn it to a CD or use any image burning software you may have. Or, you could download the preconfigured USB Flash drive installer. It will install it on a USB flash drive for you. Then just boot from which ever media you used.

Run Ungine Heaven 4.0 ( Download Unigine 'Heaven' DX11 Benchmark 4.0 | techPowerUp ) For a couple of hours, but keep a watch on your GPU temps. Set a customized fan profile with Precision X. If you set an aggressive fan profile you shouldn't have any temp problems. I have an EVGA 670 and it runs if pretty cool. It also has a benchmark function too. If you run the benchmark, use the pre set Extreme settings. The other test you could run instead is furmark. Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark But a lot of people think it is too hard on the GPU. I have run it though, but I do a lot of things I probably shouldn't. Again, keep a close watch on your temps and watch for any artifacting, driver crashes or visual anomalies.

Download your Hard drive manufacturer's diagnostic test and run the Short and long Drive self tests. It is better to use the DOS tests, but some people have trouble with the DOS tests. If you do, use the Windows installer version and install it and run the tests.
You can also run Check disk Disk Check

If you get through all of those this weekend you will have done quite a bit, but you will have a reasonable assurance that your computer is stable. At least as much assurance you can have with a computer. If you pass all those tests, you will also be fairly well certain that your problem was with your overclock settings. If you have any problems, just let me know and I will help as best as I can.

If you have time, you may find these of interest https://www.sevenforums.com/benchmarks/
Official Seven Forums Overclock Leader boards [2]. When you look at some of the benchmarks, just remember almost every one of them were with the CPU and GPU heavily overclocked. So, don't try to compare yours.

    Howdy! How is everything?

I apologise for the delay in any news. The free time I had over the weekend wasn't actually my own free time. Funny how that works.

However I managed to get through the tests over the last 2 days and here are the results:

    Memtest: twice
    10 passes - no errors
    7 passes - no errors

    Ungine Heaven 4.0
    2 hours 47 minutes - no errors.
Ran 4 benchmarks and got scores between 900-1050. With an aggressive fan curve - the card hovered between 67 and 69 degrees for the entire test. [Idle temps 30 degrees]

    HDD Tests.
Corsair Toolbox + WD Lifeguard says the S.M.A.R.T status of my SSD is good.
I also ran the WD Lifeguard scans, [long and short] on my storage drive. Took roughly 6 hours. No errors.

Prime 95 - with overclock disabled
Ran for almost 11 hours and showed no errors. Max temps on the threads were between 65 and 72 degrees. The idle temps on the CPU have dropped by roughly 10 degrees from 40 to 30. I also noticed that my CPU's clock speed was fluctuating. I discovered why via google but I'm confused as to why it was maxing out at 3.8 during the prime95 test considering my stock speed is 3.4. Any reason for this?

So, in conclusion. Prime95 bluescreens my system within 1 minute with errors showing on the 2nd thread. Prime 95 runs for 10+ hours with the OC disabled

Over the next week, I will be using my system with the OC disabled and see if I bluescreen during normal usage. While it seems the OC is at fault for my bsods, im worried that this may just have been a side problem discovered as none of the dump files initially pointed towards it.

I have also uploaded 4 more crashes I got before I managed to run the tests.

Thank you for your continued support. Without your help, getting this far wouldn't have been possible.
