Stop 0x00000124 - Help Identifying Issue. Thanks!

    Hey everyone,

I'm in desperate need of help, thanks for reading this. New computer build:

    Windows 7 Professional
Intel Core i7 4770K @ 3.50GHz no OC, never been OC
    16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 1201MHz (10-12-12-31)
    ASUS Z87-PLUS (SOCKET 1150)
MSI NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 x2 in SLI

I keep getting STOP 0x00000124. All of them reference the kernel and hal.dll.

    Minidumps, msinfo32, speccy dump here:
    https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2c...it?usp=sharing

There is no real way to reliably trigger it - it appears random. The one way to reliably trigger is, from a fresh windows install, run all windows updates - crashes every time when it starts installing. Same thing when trying to install Asus's AI Suite motherboard tools. The latest dump you see at 6-2-2014, for example, was attempting to install AI Suite.

    I've tried:
    - using other video cards. using onboard video
    - using known good ram from another machine
    - using other harddrives
    - not using any SSDs to rule out driver confliction others have experienced
    - stress testing. All RAM tests pass. Prime95 test fine. Thermals are withing exceptable ranges.

At this point my last assumption is defective hardware - either the motherboard or CPU. I've seen you tech angels ferret out an error code from STOP dumps, so if there is anything that points to the CPU or motherboard I would be very grateful!

    Any other advice appreciated.

    Thanks

Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try

It is difficult to identify the reason for a stop 0x124. Almost everything associated with the computers environment may cause it. And crash dumps does not provide enough help information about the cause of the BSODs in case of stop 0x124.
