Random Freezing Lenovo Y580, Possible Hard Drive errors

Recently my computer has been occasionally freezing while I've been browsing online. It doesn't actually get to the point of BSOD but programs will stop working and I eventually won't be able to close or open anything, including task manager.

I tried running CHKDSK to see if that could fix things, (it has crashed since then unfortuantely), doing so somehow filled up my hard drive. I went from having around 700 GB free to only having a couple hundred MBs free. I tried this two more times.

I've attached the dump log as requested as well as the three logs of the CHKDSK that I found in event viewer.

    Thanks!

I am not receiving Blue Screens of Death, rather the computer just completely freezes and sometimes goes black.

To add my 2 cents worth to KoolKat's suggestions because it sounds like a problem with the drive is a surface test with Partition Wizard Best Free Partition Manager Freeware and free partition magic for Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows Vista and Windows XP 32 bit & 64 bit. MiniTool Free Partition Manager Software Home Edition. this will test the actual physical surface of the drive - if it is a spinner of course and to some extent the read and write heads. See my pic

I ran the Seagate application and it said that I the HDD failed the test. I downloaded the DOS version, burned it to a CD-R and am currently trying to run the bootable version of Seagate but have encountered an error. I've been able to select the optical drive to boot from but even when I have the CD in the only message I get when I turn on my laptop is "Starting BCDW..." and then nothing else happens.

I've edited in the Crystal Disk snapshot and also will run the other tool that was posted by Icit2lol
    Thanks everyone!

EB given the age of that machine I suspect the drive is about to throw in the towel so back it up if you haven't already.

Plus I don't think running this would not be such a bad idea given it id DDR2 and again aged

    MEMTEST

https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/105647-ram-test-memtest86.htmlthis one you will need to make a bootable disk set theBIOS to optical (or USB if preferred) boot the machine and let it run for at LEAST 8passes unless the errors come up straight away. Takes fair timeto complete and some leave it running overnight.

Ifthe errors come up quickly then you can stop it and you will have to test eachstick and maybe in each slot to sort the bad one out.
It might seem like overkill but worth doing just in case it is not that crash hot itself and it would be tough if you replaced that drive only to find the RAM fail.

Enough indication to say that the disc is failing. Seatools test all the HDD brands good. But take another test, as your primary HDD is a Samsung one. Samsung Drive Diagnostic Utility

Because your storage controller is set to AHCI mode; and DOS (the bootable Seatools uses DOS only) cannot read AHCI.

The tutorial has a not about this AHCI thing .... follow it and see if you can test it then.
