    BSOD 0x124 when viewing videos

I have been getting BSOD 0x124 for a while now. I have tried restoring my machine back to factory, replaced the HD, RAM and DVD/ROM. I read in the forums about using Prime 95. I downloaded it, ran the base test and it crashed in 5 mins. I am pretty proficient with computers, but I am having a hard time with this. If someone could figure out what is causing it so I can get the part replaced or the software, I would greatly appreciate it.

    Hi Dragonus.

Install Service pack 1 and all other windows updates. Otherwise the system will remain vulnerable to threats.
    Code:
Windows 7 Kernel Version 7600 MP (2 procs) Free x64
Product: WinNt, suite: TerminalServer SingleUserTS Personal
    Built by: 7600.16617.amd64fre.win7_gdr.100618-1621
Learn how to install Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1)
Service Pack and Update Center - Microsoft Windows

Report us for any further BSOD after updating the system.

Installed SP-1.... ran system diagnostics... came back with a bad battery. Replaced it and still getting 0x124 BSOD. Only thing I can figure now is either the mother board/ integrated graphics or the CPU is going bad.

    Some hardware tests to run.

    Hard drive(s)test(s):
Pick one for your HDD brand or use Seatools.
7 Free Hard Drive Testing Software Tools

    RAM (memory) test:
This will require memtest on a bootable CD or USB stick.
    RAM - Test with Memtest86+

To show volts and much more, download and install HWinfo for your 32 bit or 64 bit system.
    HWiNFO, HWiNFO32/64 - Download

Scroll down to the green "Download Installer" button.

There is a fair chance that your idea is right, because

It is either the CPU is highly overheating or the CPU is bad. But we have to wait for the tests those Britton30 suggested, specially the HWiNFO one; to say anything more in this line.

One thought is if the power adapter or battery isn't supplying adequate power that would cause Prime95 to fail or cause a BSOD.
