Yes ... I went back to current drivers and did some research.... I found a firmware upgrade and i just installed that.

    Updated USB 3.0 Firmware - X79 FTW/Classified - EVGA Forums

    Hopefully that does the trick.

You're having no luck with this ASMedia controller mate. It's still definitely that that's causing the issue.

    Code:

I did have a 360 controller plug and the wifi adapter but it doesnt matter if I take them out it still crashes regardless. Could it be a setting issue in the Bios for USB 3.0 ? Its weird that the old drivers cause an issue on those 2 hubs....

I think this may be a better/more recent driver...

    --6/24/2013 --

Ill try it and see if it still hangs.

Yeah I've got to admit I'm scratching my head on this one. I'm going to have to do some more digging and see what I can find mate.

OK so I tried that newer USB hub thing the link is for a firmware updater and .....facepalm.We seem to be at square one again. ONly thing that works is disabling all my USB 3.0 in the BIOS... and on this board its basically every usb port on the back except the mouse and keyboard...
